The MW:2 trailer is out after the NBA playoffs, and it doesn't look half bad. I think I'll get this.

And I guess all the ten year old consolefags are having explosions in their pants right now.
I am passing all CoD series. They are all mindless shooters for me, and enemies are keep spawning until you go. They must change this mechanic.

I'm with acare84.
Just another Call of "finish me in 4 hours" Duty. IMO it's not worth the money. Singleplayer is pathetic scripted shooter and multiplayer is just nadespam/snipercamp/mg spray + bunnyhop fest.
Thanks, I'll pass it.
Yeah... COD4 singleplayer is pathetic... yeah... xD

I agree, but the atmosphere is good. Still, I feel the COD series are overrated. Critics and fanbois are always hyping and praising the singleplayer, as if it's the first of its kind, something that's never been done before. However, they fail to realise that in the midst of all the hype, COD really is just Doom with better atmosphere, story and maybe a bit more variety.
Let's see, constantly respawning enemies: Doom - 1, COD series - 1
Errand boy missions ie. lulz yur team mates r useless: Doom - 1, COD series - 1
The greatest FPS is still Riddick. Now that is innovation. Bottom line: just plug in some boom boom bang bang loud sound effects, lots of enemies spouting foreign languages, cool music, and a few gimmicky minigames, and you get a game of the year
lowyhong, please actually play Doom at some point in your life.
Your comparisons are seriously cringe-inducing.

To compare Doom with the Call of Duty games is like comparing a filet mignon with cereal.
Yeah, and Riddick as much as it is a good game, it's not great.
I'm defo going to pick up Modern Warfare 2, bah, I'll even preorder it. Fourth one had quite good single player campaign, a bit on the short side though. And multiplayer... Absolutely amazing. World at War is good as well and despite people bitchin' that mp is weak compared to 4th one, which it isn't, I enjoy playing it a lot.
Hoping for MW2 to be at least as good as previous CoD games and hell, if you don't enjoy it, at least don't compare it to Doom...
If game not include 'sandvich' I don't want!

I take back the errand boy comparison. I admit that's not a very realistic comparison. Anyway, I take that as an insult, having clocked over 80 hours of Doom incl. mods. Plus I am a proud, official member of id Fanclub Int'l

Wow. Over 80 hours?
Single player isn't soooooooo bad, yes it is short but throws in a center of action which you are part of.
Anyway multiplayer decides what that game really is. :D
For me it's a must have.

Doom is quit different game than cod. I like both of them. In cod 4 re spawning enemies weren't as annoying as in cod 5. Actually in cod 4 it wasn't a problem for me at all and it was only couple of times. In doom it's only enemies which you can't just defeat cause they'll re spawning until you do something are those little spiders.

stonebro: Wow. Over 80 hours?

There was a period when I got hooked on to it real badly. Played on Doom Legacy, Skulltag and jDoom. Finished the original Episode 1 four times, Episode 2 six times, Episode 3 three times, Episode 4 once. Then moved on to play the first three episodes with different weapon wads, including new 3d weapons for jDoom (the new minigun was kick ass). Then, played a few megawads and other TCs, including some recent ones like Ghoul's Forest (bloody awesome) and older ones like Action Doom
Anyway back on to the original topic, ignoring my previous comparison, my point is that COD's gameplay has always been stagnated at the old school level, and the script often gets predictable. Where I-ward does it right, however, is at the level of polish and atmosphere given to the games. I do think, though, that multiplayer is a blast. Played it quite frequently at LAN shops with my buddies before L4D was released, and while it's no OpF, it's got a level of realism there that adds to the tension and fun of the match
Yeah, I agree about how it's too scripted, but I think that in this case, the COD games are scripted heavily... in a good way. It feels surreal, like you're experiencing a movie, not a game. And I like that.
