Detlik: Will do :)
Complete is worth it just for the included Atmosfear mod. Bloody hell the blowouts are so amazing with that mod.
Too few people mention Riddick, too few people. That is a shame since Escape from butcher bay, that is also sold with the game, is truly one of the best FPS games I have ever played

Detlik: Hi everybody,
I am just curious if they even exist anymore. I dont say I grown fond of linear shooters, but when they feed them to you long enough, you will stop to care (in my case). But when I was replaying Duke3D I got craving for modern shooter but with non-linear gameplay. Anybody knows about anything?

EDIT : added picture to explain what I mean
if you have a wii or gamecube, play metroid prime series
they are really good and non linear, lots of exploration to do
There's a Russian game called The Precursors which is a non-linear Mass Effectish shooter with room to explore. I've yet to give it a try myself, but RPS wrote about it and their conclusion was that it was kind of amateurish but interesting (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/01/04/wot-i-think-precursors/).

Maxxer: Nope...

Let me know if you want a multi at borderlands (PC I assume)

Dark Athena made many changes to the Butcher Bay campaign that I didn't like. It's prettier, but I've played Butcher Bay three times, enough to know that the Dark Athena version of BB is significantly different. Things like damage stats were changed (they were perfect in BB), and the AI also behaves more erratically.

I'd just go with the old Butcher Bay game (best if you can get a boxed copy). Dark Athena didn't feel like extra value for money; it felt like a chore playing through it.

I'd recommend Xenus 2: White gold too. Same developers, less ambitious but it's a great game when it works.

:o I will soon, Siren currently at lvl 35 (done the main story before anyway :/) need to do the dlcs but finished zombie island
far cry that is available here is very good and you have a lot of freedom, especially when it comes to the terms how to deal with a special situation. It is also one of the most challenging ego-shooters because of the AI.
Red Faction Guerrilla.

Awesome game!

Ahh and Just Cause 2 is not bad either.

Thes are TPS games by the way but these are also better than most FPS games.

As GoJays has mentioned, Bioshock is sadly one of the few big blockbuster productions of late that aren't completely linear affairs, even though there's not all that much room to deviate in Bioshock itself. I'm interested in seeing how Bioshock Infinite will look in that regard. With all them sky-rails there's definitely a possibility of opening up the world more. Then again, it's still going to be rather story-driven so I don't expect it to be too open either.

True, but compare MP3 to the first two and it's very noticeable how trimmed down it is. It's still a good game in its own right, but there's definitely a lot less space to explore.
well bioshock on pc is a sick joke. The ego shooter mechanics are broken and it is heavy consolized and it is a poor attempt to do a follow up to SS 2.

Agreed, but people who never played BB before will not notice those changes and getting your hands on a copy of BB is way harder. It's worth getting just for the amazing and informative developer commentary thou

Yes. But it's a great game.
Hopefully Deus Ex Human Revolution when it comes out.
