Whoa, I couldn't find another thread about this so sorry if there already has been one but I just went to find a game on MobyGames for the 'What Game is this' Forum game and found that it's been majorly redesigned
I've not poked around it much but I'm hoping they're bringing some 'under the hood' rather than just cosmetic updates because, as incredibly useful as it is, it IS starting to feel a bit creaky in places

Huge step backwards in terms of usability imho.

The old layout had all information on the screen at once, only for the user reviews I had to scroll.

Now, the whole right part of the screen is reserved for advertisements and a useless "Did you know" feature with information completely unrelated to the game, and I can't even access the screenshots anymore without having to scroll around.

Heck, they now placed the cover art on top of the navigation menu, so that I can't even access half of the navigation links without scrolling.

When I zoom out in order to get more information on the screen, the layout doesn't adapt - instead I'm now looking at black bars at the sides of the screen, and I still have to scroll like hell.

This new layout will cost me time that I would have preferred to spend with doing more useful things than fighting with an inefficient UI.

Agreed. Of course some filters might require additional tags but you can't even search by all the information that already is present in the database - considering that it's the biggest database about games on the web it's just incredible how limited the search criteria are.

Also: I like the new design. The only thing that bothers me is that the page looks like any wiki on the web now.

Any of you guys ever come across a game so obscure it's not even on mobygames?

Elemental: Fallen Enchantress and Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes are apparently also too obscure, because they aren't on mobygames either.

Ahm, back to topic. Searched yesterday to get some informations about Eets from the Humble Bundle on mobygames, and so far I don't like it. The series link looks now similar like the other game information and the list isn't really good to read for me either. Also the game search is kind of more complicated, because for every additional search information you need to click again to open the main-menu to get the additional search tags. But that were only my first short impressions, I need to take a closer look before I can really judge about the new design.

Edit: Ah, and about the colour scheme: I normally like a clear look, especially grey, but so far everything look to similar for me. A "few" more colours to highlight some different options or informations would maybe help here.
