WOW!

(Did I use caps? Me? Ah, freck it.)

WOW!

;)
Oh god, how fast the screenshot gallery works. It's amazing how much of a screw up the re-design was.
YES! Brilliant! :-D

I don't know what incompetent web designers they hired for the "GameFly" design, but man, they had no clue what they were doing, did they?

Amen to that. Navigating the site after the redesign was a major pain. I'm very glad the old layout is back.
Mobygames has always been my first site to check a game, more than a dozen years. Even now in the day of Youtube (though I guess no idea how long YT will continue to exist) and Wikipedia. I had no idea Gamefly was the owner of the site, but I am glad it has gone back to the older WORKING design and I can finally see screenshots! A good move by the new owners.

Yeah, I'd almost given up on using it. The search options were totally gimped, and getting to see any screenshot at all required copious amounts of luck and patience. It's good to see it back to its old useful self.

Yes, they really did screw up the database code in the redesign. It was slow and clunky.
P.S: even if GOG design is waay better than Mobygames second interface, I still don't like this widespread tablet-ipad narrow layout.. I'm on a PC in a effing widescreen! I don't want an empty 40% space, nor to scroll down each few lines of text!

The thing about the design of GOG is that even though its been made a bit narrow for tablets and phones, its still kinda broken on them - to get your forum replies you 'mouse-over' the 'My Account' button - how do you mouse-over on a touch screen exactly?

The best thing about the Mobygames roll back is that it sounds like the new owners are going to be doing some much needed 'under the bonnet' work while leaving the aesthetics alone for now...

With an iPad, you tap "My Account" thus it sees it as hover. Same is true for displaying the "reply" and "rate this post + -": If the post has something you can click (url or quote, since the quote arrow is a url), you can get those to display.
No idea about android tablets.

Cavalary: And we seem to be back! Now let's see where this will go.
Thank fuck for that.
That's one of the most incredible moves on the internet I've ever seen; I mean, bringing back the old design, I don't remember ever seeing this happen in my 15 years of internet (for sites I cared).
THANK YOU BASED GOD.
Yay!
