I'd need more information before becoming concerned about this. As a civil libertarian, this is definitely something that concerns me, however without knowing how much information it stores and for what duration it's hard to say how much of a threat this is.
If it's only a rolling half hour or so, and it doesn't include GPS information, this is hardly worth getting too worried about. However if it does have GPS capability and the duration is either longer or it can be tapped into by law enforcement to continuously update them, that would definitely be cause for a great deal of concern.
Personally, I'll be getting a motorcycle for my next vehicle anyways, it's cheaper than the bus and about as convenient as a car.

It reminds me of the pre-crimes division arresting people BEFORE the fact in Minority Report in a way.If it's only a rolling half hour or so, and it doesn't include GPS information, this is hardly worth getting too worried about. I'm not a fan of using it either way, if there isn't anybody around, I'd rather focus on people speeding when it's likely that somebody else could get hurt.

hedwards: Sort of not really, it could be used in that fashion if they fed the data into a computer to predict future behavior. But the most likely scenario would be issuing tickets for actual committed crimes that would otherwise go unnoticed, like speeding when nobody is around. I'm not a fan of using it either way, if there isn't anybody around, I'd rather focus on people speeding when it's likely that somebody else could get hurt.

RatherDashing: No! You're doing it wrong! You're supposed to say that, no, GameRanger is NOT right, and no you don't need to explain WHY he's not right in any way because you're the best and most intelligent person and there's no way he could make a single argument that could be accurate or acceptable, no matter how much time or effort was put into it! Then, if he protests, you can sling insults at an oversimplified scarecrow version of him that you made up!
That's getting a little old. I don't need to explain why.GamezRanker

I meant the overbearing gov't/etc in Minority Report, and it's more current so more people will get it possibly than that particular book/film.
