I also got stung by this. Was supposed to get the final stamp today. This is BS, GOG.

The ending time for the promotion was not clearly stated in the banner.
The sale was up for 2 weeks. If you didn't get 7 stamps in 14 days then it's on you, not GoG. I already gave away my extra Witcher 2 copies, sorry chaps.

Yes the sale was up for 2 weeks, but a lot of people didn't notice the banner until 1 week in. Many of us have lives and jobs.

Why did GOG code the banner so that you could collect stamps when you had missed the window to collect all 7?

This was a theft of my time, and as a GOG user who has paid for a lot of content on this site I feel betrayed.

I have a life and a job. and I got my stamps by day 8. I also look at sites for games.

Your claim is that they stole time from you because you didn't get a $20 game and movie for free? Since it takes 10 seconds to visit GoG and click the stamp, they stole LITERALLY a minute of your life at most. You're pretty sad to cry about 60 seconds.

ChaunceyK: The sale went on for 14 days & you only needed to collect 7 stamps. I completely get that maybe a very small number of you could possibly have only been made aware of the sale with 6 days of stamps remaining, and that you thought you could still squeeze in that 7th stamp today.
I agree, but also, a good point here:

"Why did GOG code the banner so that you could collect stamps when you had missed the window to collect all 7? "

- if that IS the case, then GOG should probably just dump a Witcher 2 in everbody's account currently registered (if they dont have it).

Also - have to agree with the second half of what you said - its always a possibility.

Congratulations, good for you. It still shows a lack of regard for the users that they didn't care enough when they designed the promotion. It doesn't matter if it was 10 seconds.

I'm much less likely now to participate in any promo of theirs that requires me to invest my time.

And voicing my disappointment in the forum on this thread is not "crying about it". If you don't inform merchants when you have a bad experience with one of their events, they have no idea anything went wrong and are likely to continue delivering a subpar experience.

Very valid point as well.

Despite my snagging all 7 stamps in the first 7 days, I didn't really like the concept of having to collect stamps. I have a very mathematical brain, and my first thought was exactly what ended up happening...that some may not be able to collect all 7 for various reasons.

I realize GOG was trying to do something different & possibly even "fun" to earn a free game+movie, I just wasn't overly fond of it.

Aye - and with the stamp "glitch" so many got (where it wouldnt show up on reloading the page), they didnt do a very good job of what they were trying to do either.

Good point. Expressing one's discontent is a very important part of the customer experience. I apologize for my rant earlier. I still stand by that you had ample time to not get forced into that situation.
I also started collecting stamps late, but feel still in the right to blame GOG for showing me a countdown for a last stamp. Don't care for that sexist POS pseudo-RPG, but would've liked the movie

I'm sure the movie they included with The Witcher 2 is not my cup of tea so I just PMed you my code for the movie. Enjoy! :) Let me know if the code works so I know for sure, you got your movie.

moonshineshadow: The problem here is, that there never was going to be a stamp today. Since the sale ended today at 15:00 CET there was not going to be another stamp today since the new once always appeared after 15:00 CET. So the real problem is that gog did not make it clear that there would be no stamp today and that the countdown for a new stamp was still active. So hopefully next time, gog will communicate this more clearly.

soundslikerust: Oh i get it. It was just to annoy me enaugh to look for DRM free version of Witcher 2 somewhere else for 0$? Now from love stage for GOG i wento to hate.

GOG you didn't give me a prize.
GOG you made me look like an idiot clicking every day in my office the same time of the day and in home on weekend for last week.
GOG you ruined my day
GOG you've taken from me MY pleasure to get this prize

nice marketting thinking...
I have a Witcher 2 code for you if you want it. Just let me know. But if you don't respond before December 25, I'm going to give it to someone else.

Coelocanth: Check your PMs. :)
Just a note to say a massive thank you to Coelocanth and all the other extremely generous forum users that are helping those who missed out on the last stamp and the game. Thank you so much!
GOG could screw up promo but community around here is incredible! Thank you monkeydelarge, F4LL0UT and omega64 for your selfless help!

eddiemaniaco: I also lost today's stamp.
I was almost certain I started in the correct day... or maybe not...
Any chance to collect the final stamp? :)
Check your PMs :)

delmurice: Same thing happened to me. It said 6 hours until next stamp before I went to bed. Woke up this morning and it was the first thing I checked, to get the last stamp, but the offer was over. I was collecting stamps from day one, what gives?
avatar
moonshineshadow: Like I said before, gog messed up with the design of the stamp collecting, there was never going to be another stamp today which was clear if you noticed that the new stamps always appeared with the new daily offers. And you were not collecting from day one, the sale started on 11th November, if you had started then you would have had the seven stamps a few days ago. But of course you have every right to be angry since the stamp collection with the counter was very misleading.
I didn't hear about the sale until the 18th when I saw it on my Twitter feed. It was 7 days until the 25th and 7 slots for stamps. It led me to believe I can collect all 7 stamps in time.
