Sorry if this has been asked before, but is there any way of being able to minimise the game window so that I can use other programs without closing it down? Every time I minimise a game my cursor goes to the top left corner of the screen and I can't move it until I close the game down with Task Manager (especially annoying if the game's minimised automatically due to an anti-virus update or something and I haven't saved). Is there any way to avoid this?

You can Alt+Tab out of the game, though some games do not behave well when you do it.

Which game are you talking about? I had this annoying mouse behavior too, but only in 2 or 3 games out of several hundred. Yes. English spelling is generally much more civilised. :)

(As a slightly more useful answer, the morpheme "-ize" in American English is generally spelled "-ise" in British English. Though it's unlikely to stay that way. Many speakers of British English already use "-ize" themselves, even though they may prefer British spelling for most other terms.)

I've only tried Simon the Sorcerer and Beneath A Steel Sky so far and it's done it with both of them, so they're both ScummVM games - maybe it only does it with them?

I love the English language in all its varíants, but sometimes I wonder if the secret goal of American English (in its common usage) is to manage the entire day-to-day communication exclusively with the word "fuck" in various intonations. ;)

You're using Steel Sky with Scumm? I use it for games that GOG doesn't carry because it is a beauty program but it's got it's glitches. Have you tried it with the normal DosBox setup that GOG sets up for you?

You do know that GOG uses ScummVM for some games, right?

According to this thread from the ScummVM help forum, this is a known bug that can't be fixed by the devs themselves. Note however that the dev post at the end of the thread is almost 3 years old, so the problem may have been fixed in a newer version. I'd try to use the newest version of ScummVM if you don't have that one already.

Also, toggling full-screen (alt-enter) will allow you to move the mouse cursor, so that is an alternative to minimizing the window.

It just automatically opened with Scumm when I downloaded it, I don't remember seeing any options to do otherwise anywhere so I assumed that was the default. I've not had the same problem with games I've put on it myself though.
