What's the catch? Does this soft need some annual renewal? Or maybe its free but only for use at home?

You have to download by the 18th too...
The Downloadlimit is just a temporary thing based on the date you bought it. When you need to download again, you can easily trigger a download reset for specific product, a few minutes later you will receive a mail and you have about 7 days again to download it :)

Ubivis: The Downloadlimit is just a temporary thing based on the date you bought it. When you need to download again, you can easily trigger a download reset for specific product, a few minutes later you will receive a mail and you have about 7 days again to download it :)
Oh, ok. So for instance, if I cannot download anything this month, I could reset it when I can again? And how long will me being able to do it all last? a month? a year?

no idea, I can still reset my Bryce 5.5 and 6.0 freebies I got years ago :)

Bryce and Daz (landscape and character posing, respectively) are also free.

Daz sells software and 3d models. I think they're experimenting to get more model purchases with the purchase of some of their modeling software.

The Download By... dates are set whenever you buy a product. If you ever need to redownload it, just send tech support a msg. Even for things you buy for free (I've been a member of Daz for about 10 years and I've never bought anything yet and they still help me out).

They do prefer if you keep a backup disk to limit their bandwidth usage.
They'll send you serial numbers.
And someone once said you have to subscribe to their newsletter, which you may enjoy. You can always unsubscribe. I haven't and I've been getting it for about 10 years.

I've redownloaded things a good 5 years after I bought them. I think they're on there forever.
