As long as they use the DRM from hell, I don't care how good it is going to be, I am not going to give them money to continue using the DRM from hell.
Unless of course they release it on the consoles, then I might get it.

There were innumerable rumors about M&M online for 2011.
Look at what they committed on Nintendo DS. I think you can kiss goodbye to the "old school" part. Alas.

It would be awesome, but I don't expect much.

Let us just hope this is Might and Magic, I dont think imho its Homm 6. I would even put up with the draconian DRM just to play another M&M game.

Poor sales of Arse Creed 2, Silent Hunter 5 and Conviction (Conviction just dropped to $39.99 RRP) has probably forced them to try RUSE without their DRM. If RUSE sells well they may consider dropping their DRM but for the moment RUSE is the exception.

Played Might&Magic a lot (V-VIII I think). For the time it was published it was nice. The different spells for mages were great. However bringing this to todays standard would completely change... everything in the game. So the only thing that would remain would be the name of the game. :)

While a new Dark Messiah is a possibility it couldn't be made by Arkane because Zenimax just bought them.

The guy who posted the trailer on that link up there seems to think it's about Homm, it's linked under it.

Well, don't pay much attention to that site, they are accustomed to bad linking and mistakes...

A coworker showed me this yesterday. I would be absolutely beside myself at the prospect of a new core Might & Magic* that was faithful to the original gameplay style, but:
1) It's more likely another spinoff, especially since "Might & Magic" is basically synonymous with "Heroes of Might & Magic" nowadays.
2) Even if it's a new entry into the core series, I doubt it will be the same sort of game. The best we could probably hope for is something akin to Dragon Age and simply entitled "Might & Magic."

That was only 10 seconds of functional teaser. And it told me nothing other than "It'll have the same smooth graphics as all of today's games."
Guaranty I won't like it anyway. I've been gaming since '83 & I've gotten to the point where I don't like "modern" aspects of gaming...real-time combat, being my #1 pet-peeve. I have no problem with others enjoying it, but when you've gamed for as long as I have, you stop liking the new stuff & stick with the old stuff you're more familiar with. Needless to say (so I'll say it anyway), the last M&M game I liked & played through was Xeen.
