Kinda weird, as I am researching about Ultima Online's news from back in the caveman era, there used to be posters, pages in magazines, and letterboxes for it everywhere, with the picture of a dragon whoose pects' texture goes through the crotch and ends in the tail, and the picture of Might and Magic seem to have the same design (except in game).

I don't know who even ripped off who even.

Yup. Those dragons sure do match.
That is clearly the same dragon. Perhaps they used the same artist.
Dragons can be models too.
There's a more complete dragon painting signed Tim & Greg Hildebrandt. The dragonfight image is a small section of that painting. The full painting is used elsewhere for UO, too.

The 15 years is a somewhat clumsy shop of the original, and I doubt it was modified by the same artists. But it too is a UO image. Which one is meant to be Might & Magic?

Neither methinks. I'm pretty sure it's meant to be about the dragon that can be found on the box on the virtual shelf or as can be seen on the collection's game card. I'm not sure what the OP is really arguing about because while those two share some similar characteristics they are definitely not one and the same. Besides, that kind of dragon imagery one could consider pretty generic fantasy style. *shrug*

A lot of the M&M art was made by Frank Frazetta (died in 2010, at 82 years), a fantasy artist that influenced generations. Doubtful that it was used with his permission, but i learned about his works by seeing the covers for M&M 6-8.
I thought that dragon looked familiar!
The dragon on Might and Magic 6's cover comes from art by Larry Elmore, you can see the full scene here.
And the stuff from M&M7 is from Frazetta. And not only from M&M7, but from some of the older ones (3-5)

Similar, yes, but not the same. Look at positioning of left knee/leg, for example.

And, they're dragons. Is this the first time you've seen two dragons looking similar? :-)

Funny, now that you mention it the whole bottom part is different (almost as if the legs and the tail are mirrored), yet from the torso up it's a perfect match, arms, wings, face and all. I wonder if they changed just a bit on purpose so they wouldn't get in trouble.
