bansama: You probably don't want the Square Enix version currently offered on Steam. Square removed the multiplayer components, added their own copyright message, apparently removed the ending videos (or introduced a bug that did the same) and don't offer the expansion packs -- according to the comments on the Steam forums.

Both games, do however, run perfectly fine in Win 7.
What!? What good would be Diablo if they removed the multiplayer component? I guess the same must be said for dungeon siege no?

I care, one of the biggest letdown for me from Torchlight was that I wasn't able to hook up with my brothers and hack n slash madness, and so we returned to Diablo again back then.

GameRager: Well, the DS makers couldn't keep the official servers running froever so.....
Is there a LAN mode? What about releasing a Dedicated server? That's why I feel sad when developers in general decided to ditch dedicated servers and lan modes. There's always the danger of losing the ability to play the game in multiplayer. If this is true then Dungeon siege is one of them and Hellgate is another one.

What about Sacred, didn't it had it's multiplayer servers closed? And isn't it possible to play it multiplayer?

GameRager: Tbh, who needs LAN anymore? People mostly have net now so everything is fine....even people in the same building can use an ethernet router/etc and some work to "lan" over the internet.
Lan means I don't need to rely on the official servers to be up, but other than that I just happen to love LAN play.

I would hope. I so want Mechwarrior 4 on here.

Also on that note does Microsoft own the whole franchise now or just 4?

GameRager: I meant one can use the net to connect to other players like normal multiplayer and if one sues an ethernet hub then they can play over the net andf in the same room. Possibly even with a private server.
But you forget about Hamachi and other methods to make a fake LAN network. If the game supports such thing, you may play with anybody without any servers up

I am sad I'm not able to play Hellgate with my brother and some of my local friends anymore for example, should it had a lan feature akin to open battle.net from Diablo 2 we'd still be playing it from time to time, like we do with Diablo and I'm sure that the Hellgate community would live on fixing bugs on the game like it happened to many other great games plagued with bugs.

Hellgate: London might be returning. It got bought up and relaunched in Korea as a free to play title (fittingly titled Hellgate: Resurrection). They have added a lot of new content (including an expansion, Hellgate: Tokyo) and intend to release it elsewhere in the future.

In a surprise move, Fable 3 had it's restriction in Japan removed (for Steam). So I believe now it is only restricted on Steam inline with other GFWL titles. I.e., Valve will not sell them in non-supported regions.

So maybe chances of Microsoft on GOG have increased a bit...
