I'm about as anti-console as they get, but your post is what's pathetic.
1. Learn to use URLs. (I see you learned).
2. Learn to distinguish between inferior skill and inferior interfaces. It's the consoles themselves that are inferior, not the players.

I think the real reason has to do with Shadowrun. It was their experiment with the concept, but barely anyone bought it and continued to play it, so that probably soured Microsoft on it.

But it is also because the average age on Xbox Live is 8. Or at least that's the average mental age.

Shadowrun so crippled the mouse controls that it ruined an otherwise okay Counter-Strike game, if you ask me. Who cares about cross-platform play anyway?

I like PC gaming much better. My last and only console was the Gamecube and it never really competed against PC gaming at all. I still play it from time to time, but PC gaming is so much better, especially with shooters and RTS games.
One thing I would rather play on the console is a platform type game. I simply like using a controller for those, but that is about it.

It allows for a much larger pool of multiplayer opponents.

Lets have a big, heated discussion about which is the better gaming platform, PC or The Console. That would be awesome.
And of course any owner of a PC is far more mature than a console user, everyone knows that.

Speaking of which, can anyone recommend a good sturdy PC gamepad for 2D games?
I have a 360 pad, which is okay overall, but the D-pad is probably the second-worst I've ever used (here's the worst).

Where the fuck did you find that abortion of a controller?
As for controllers for PC, I had an old Logitech that worked like a charm. I bet they still sell controllers.

It's an SNES controller; a friend of mine had one years ago. The D-pad is just a touch-sensitive panel, which is a nightmare to use. It's great if your objective is to steer Mario off a cliff, I suppose.
A few of us eventually made a game of hiding the damn thing in each others' homes.

I once had a touch-D-pad for the Mega-Drive like that one. It was awful to use, no matter what game.
