I feel terrible for making such a horrible joke, but here goes...
*Ahem*
Looks like MJ just beat it!
(not mine; poster at Kotaku made it)

Romulus: ...okay, sorry, I really don't have an opinion though. I never liked his music and I never knew him personally. I am also unaware what exact influences he has made within the pop world or what actually happened with his trial. I feel extremely uninformed to be even commenting actually. :S

He's basically influenced pop as a whole. You know all those boy bands that became popular around the late nineties-early-two-thousands? Those are worse versions of The King. Even if he made himself white and did that whole naughty naughty business, he made some damn good music in his time.

He was paid to kill himself. You know how many more albums he'll be selling today?

Yeah, THAT makes sense. What the hell would he do with money if he killed himself?

From now on, he s going to sell more albums that he ever did since 1991.
Sad but true.

Gotcha, I suppose he did progress music.

Quite likely. I wonder who is going to do the biographical movie "loosely based on his life story". It seems that those never get made while people are alive. And who do you think will play the part of him?
I was honestly quite creeped out by him the last few years. I even quit listening to his songs when they came on the radio. I think he had definite mental issues. But I never wished him any ill will.
RIP MJ.
He's molesting angels now ...

You guys ought to be ashamed of yourselves making these crass jokes. Have some respect for the recently departed? Sheesh.
I'll say this in all seriousness.
It is a shame that he did not have the time to redeem himself, he deserved that much I think.
I think it's too soon guys...
Anyways, respected for his influence on the world of pop, despised for his later actions...
RIP, King of Pop.

I agree. If you feel the need to bash him on the day he died you can all go piss off.
He was a born entertainer and had some fantastic songs - thriller, smooth criminal, Billie Jean and Heal the World. He will be missed. Rest in peace.

Hey, some of those Catholic priests are great singers too, and I don't see any of you guys weeping for them.

True. For what he is, for all the media unglam that has surrounded him, he's still human. I was watching BBC, and I just felt sorry for the man.
Some time ago, a reporter asked him "Are you lonely, Michael?" and he just kept silent. He's human, guys. Just like you and I.
