basically if an average bloke had acted the way that guy acted they wouldnt have stayed out of prison for long.
But no. He was rich and he was famous and he has many fanatical fanboys and girls. Which meant he could act any way he liked and get away with it.

Weclock: And what do you have that proves his innocence? Nothing, other than paying people to take back what they said. If he was innocent, he could have it be proven and then sue for libel, etc.

People don't have to prove their innocence, Wec. It's the other way around. And i can think of a million reasons why an innocent man would still take a deal instead of a trial.

...okay, sorry, I really don't have an opinion though. I never liked his music and I never knew him personally. I am also unaware what exact influences he has made within the pop world or what actually happened with his trial. I feel extremely uninformed to be even commenting actually. :S

And spent even more money on lawsuits and lawyers? Tie up even more people's time for the various trials in civil court that this would entail? Not to mention the fact that just filing the suit in the first place would give people who were looking for any excuse to condemn him even more ammunition to work with? "Hey, look, he's rich as all hell, but he's still wasting taxpayer time and money to get back some of the gobs of money he had to throw away defending himself on those child molestation accusations. What a jackass!"

I was never a particularly strong supporter of the man. Hell, he very well could've been guilty of what he was accused of, I really don't know, and I never really made it a point to form an opinion, but the man -is- dead, and pissing on him immediately after he died kind of galls me a little.
