Great news! Is this a transfer of the copy they discovered in South America a few years ago? The one they found shortly after I bought my copy of the most complete version then known....
Yep, the one they found in Brazil or wherever. None of the stores around here open for another hour or two, but I'm going to be calling to make sure they got it in. They had better have it in...if they know what's good for them.

Do you know if Netflix will be stocking the new version?
Another version? How much more complete is this one than the last?
Great news indeed!

This movie is a must-seen for any movie-lover, and especially for any sci-fi lover, as it is one of the first realistic sci-fi movie, and added, for its time, strong sci-fi visual references, inspiring many well-known movies.

It's just sad that, now, when you talk someone about Metropolis, they only know the japanese anime...

All the other versions have come from knowingly incomplete sources. The version found in Brazil is finally the complete movie. We can only assume it was sneaked away by Nazi scientists who went to Brazil to try to clone baby Hitlers.

Brazil, where hearts were entertained in June. And yet another brilliant movie.

Anyways, back on topic.

One of the cinemas here in Warsaw used to screen Metropolis with live music - I've seen it probably four times, and each time the experience was different. Much better option than a Blu-Ray IMHO (though I do have a Metropolis DVD somewhere :-) )

Ooooh! Metropolis remains an iconic piece of sci fi to this day. So I'm interested. Is there a DVD version out?

Ah yes, the Nazi scientists who through genius epiphany realised that Hitler would be better able to conquer the world if he was cute. Thus the rise of the kitler began. I loved that film. If they could get Terry Gilliam to direct it then a remake of that film could be awesome.

Hi, I'm this thread. Try reading me sometime.

Signed,

This thread specifically about the release of the complete version of Metropolis on blu-ray today.
Fantastic movie and something that should be any Sci-Fi fan's collection.
Argentina, actually.

But that just kills my reference to the baby Hitler clones and Nazi scientists in Brazil, doesn't it?

Why do you hate Nazis?

Yeah... so no mention of a DVD version or lack of then, right? Not too difficult to understand I hope?
Huzzah!
