Some people don't know how to take a joke more like. I am planning to buy a 3DS for SMT IV this September and a PS3 for Persona 5 next year so I certainly don't care if people game with consoles. That said, I don't think anyone can claim that this game won't be better on PC.

GAMES TO RECOMMEND:

Red Dead Redemption (Though the Xbox Version is better in temrs of controllers, its still worth it on the PS3 since the GOTY version is on the same disc)
Metal Gear Solid 4 (Obvious reasons)
Dragon's Dogma (get the Dark Arisin version that adds more content and fixes)
Demon's Souls (If you like both Dark Souls, you will feel right at home)
Yakuza 3 and 4


These are games I have confidance you would play, now for the if you are interested category:
Uncharted Trilogy (Its just a linear corrider setpiece game, but its the best of the kind, and I say its worth it at the cheap prices they have)
The Last of Us (Though I think the game is extremely overrated, I had fun with the gameplay)
Heavy Rain (I find this game charming despite it's flaws, and unlike Mass Effect 3 your choices do matter)
Beyond Two Souls (Don't own it, but it looks interesring)
inFamous 1 and 2 (Even though the first game looks like shit for a PS3 exclusive I mean the graphics look like Saints Row 1-2, on a console that gave us Uncharted and Heavy Rain)
Never cared for Resistance even though people say the first game is good. The 2nd's campaign is too COD, the 3rd game brough back good elements from the first game, but I never played it.
Killzone 2 and 3. Heh this game just uses gimmicks to make it look like a Crysis level grahpics. The FPS is the cinematic style that you see in CG game trailers and the Film Grain is everywhere. Masking what the game really looks like. And the controls are quite clunky since your character moves like a (real person with real body physics)

Haha, I did my run through the whole series this very year, Metal Gear 1 and 2 included (still have to beat Peace Walker and Revengeance, though). I know what you mean but to me the *truly* disturbing thing about the old games was how little they differ from the amazing MGS1. Sure they are a bit more frustrating and clunky but especially Metal Gear 2 actually feels like a 2D version of MGS1. It has the vast majority of features that MGS1 has, tons of cheesy dialogue included. Even some of the more iconic moments in MGS1 are directly inspired by sequences in Metal Gear 2 (such as the seemingly endless staircase pursuit). It was a weird feeling, longing to finally get past the MSX games to MGS1 while noticing that I'm kinda already playing it. :P

But well, Metal Gear 1 doesn't have that much of a story and the later games barely reference the events from Metal Gear 2 so you're certainly not gonna regret not having beaten them.

Thanks. I doubt I'll get many games for it, though I do plan to get the MGS HD Collection and MGS4. Also I believe they sell old (emulated) PS1 games on the digital store so I'll check that out.

Since your are interested in Japanese media Highly recommend the Yakuza games on the PS3.

Listen, it's not my problem some can't handle others opinions for not liking their beloved IP. Not everyone likes the same games...

However, apparently there WAS a DOS version of the original Metal Gear (I'm pretty sure it's a port of the botched NES port though)

Huh! Wasn't aware of this one. I only played the C64 version once (which - you guessed it - was another botched port, also based on the NES version I believe).

It was a question i put towards the community on here. Just to get their thoughts on the subject. But many acted immaturely towards it. If the public can't talk about a subject sensibly then they shouldn't even be on here.

Also, i stand by my reasons for not liking the Metal Gear Solid IP. Some like it and i have no problem with that, while others will throw their dummy out their pram for someone not liking their beloved IP.

Anyway, we are going way off topic here. I'd appreciate it if you stopped digging up irrelevant topics from the past in order to add them to subjects like this one, which they aren't even relevant to.
