I read that Ground Zeroes is going to be a sort of preview game before Phantom Pain, does that mean they will have similar gameplay? I didn't like the gameplay in Revengeance.

Because Ground Zeroes is a Preview game it gain controversy over how a full retail game at $40 can be so short.

Also take a look at the official Phantom Pain gameplay

Elmofongo: Case in point its a very console/controller oriented game.

The man is clearly missing out on 3.
And I have to add 1 and 2. Metal Gear Solid is just unbeliveble classic, I don't know why the hate from JumpingJack, and two is hugley underrated because you aren't in the role of Solid Snake.

Thanks! Much better gameplay. Looking forward to both games.

I say MGS2 was fun in someways. I call it the Saints Row of Stealth games.

When you think about it, the game kinda is. MGS2 is the more whackier of the series. Freakin Doctor Octopus like villain with Katanas is here.

I didn't like the poor controls, awkward camera angles, the constant interruptions and poor narrative from the time i spent with it. Plus the hype for the game back then was ridiculous, which made the game out to be much better than it actually was, for me personally anyway.

What's one mans classic is another's piss-poor title. I didn't like the game for the reasons above.
F*ck yeah; the fox engine needs some challenge on the pc. Nice to see more and more jap devs giving pc some attention. Don't know how much the game will be held back by the consoles though unless the port is descent.

also this will piss off a lot of goggers :s

Unless you can play as a 400-pound version of Doctor Frankenfurter while shocking people to death with electro-paddles and wearing a paintball mask, not really. The MGS series has it's own, unique brand of bizarre.*

*Mostly involving conspiracies, the hero actually being the patsy of the villain, and lots and lots of cut-scenes.

MGS has Cyborg Ninjas, a Vampire, Ghosts, a Seemingly immortal man, a woman bullets fly away from her, and man who can control bees, and ROBOTS

OH. And a man who lost his arm and thinks to use another person's arm as a replacement and than somehow being possessed by the other person's arm :P

Even though I won't play it due to it being released on Steam it's good to hear that MGS5 will be released for PC. It's nice to see that the japs are getting more and more interested in the PC market.

Even though many people will disagree with this I suspect that this recent trend (more console-to-PC conversions) is somewhat related to the feeling that the console market will collapse in a couple of years (or less). If such a thing happens japanese software houses will have no other choice but to migrate to the PC market. So they must be probably "testing the waters", in order to see if the PC market is lucrative.

I really enjoyed MGS1 (played it on the PC). The story was completely ridiculous and over-the-top (and I really hate checkpoint saving :P ), but I loved the stealth mechanics.

Man... that cyborg-ninja was, in my humble opinion, the most "normal" of all MGS weirdnesses.

wow that's pretty good. if a historically exclusive franchise like this can move to PC well then I guess anything can. looks like the promise of easy ports from consoles that are essentially just PCs themselves is coming to fruition.

come to think of it why aren't the MGS classics on gog?

Checkpoints? Really? You didn't save by doing codec calls to save? That's a weird change from the PS version.
