Yup steam has it's fair share of problems. However that doesn't make me outright ignore it's positives and spew nothing but hatred towards it(talking in general not about you here).

But the topic is about a Metal Gear and on that note I'm glad the port seems to be good.Woudn't mind seeing more Platinum games on PC.

My experience with Steam support:

" did not received the key for cities in motion "
" ask the developer "
" but i should have received it automatically"
" ask the devs "

And so on. In the end i went on the Paradox site, explained my situation, got a few emails exchanged to prove that the game activated and there was no key for the forums and Paradox graciously allowed me to use the steam key to register the game on the site.

So, i'm sorry for not liking Steam that much.
For people who already own the game is the port any good? I've heard someone say that the textures aren't the sharpest but the frame rate is pretty smooth. Also it's 1080p locked lol?

Looks as good as the console version, has proper resolution support, though the only options you have are anisotropoic filtering and antialiasing. Constant 60fps in action.
But yeah, textures are not the sharpest, and the arenas are sparse (in purpose, the focus off MGR is not the scenery, it is the COMBAT). It is an amazing game.
Take notice, this is the TUTORIAL BOSS

eDIT OH YEAH and blur (I hate motion blur) and shadow quality. Eh. The "can cut dudes into even more pieces than the ocnsole version" thing is nice.

From my end it runs great, pretty smooth overall and consistent framerate of 60FPS (someone was probably going to point this out, but the framerate is locked at 60FPS right now). To be honest the minimum and maximum system requirements are misleading, they're really there only due to the Zandatsu option from Low to High (depending on your system the framerate will drop if there's 200-400 pieces on screen, so I'd say keep it at Medium). Texture and shadows aren't that great, but then again it's a straight up port that's similar to DmC: Devil May Cry's port (with only slightly tuned up textures and having actual Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering, which ends up in a smoother looker image).

And from the looks of it there seems to be a fix now: http://www.vg247.com/2014/01/10/metal-gear-rising-revengeance-pc-issues-should-be-fixed-now-says-koji-pro/. Tried it, and it works. Played offline for over an hour and didn't get kicked out. Also unplugged the internet cable from the computer, and the game still ran after that.

In my case (and some others) the offline issue was only resolved by manually deleting the faulty dll file in the game folder and have Steam revalidate the game files. Apparently they messed up with the autoupdate configuration or whatever.

Both can be applied via driver settings. The best part is cutscenes are over 20GB.
