jamyskis: See people, this is why YOU DO NOT PREORDER GAMES. EVER.

But people never learn. They keeping feeling the need to "support developers".
Couldn't agree with you more, but I honestly don't think at this point that the developers even matter anymore. People didn't buy into the hype surrounding Aliens: Colonial Marines because it was from Gearbox. People bought into it because it was an Aliens game.
My internet is SOLID yet this game sends me back to the menu every 5-15 minutes. On top of that it has crashed twice. Poor ports really anger me but what can I do.
Looks like a typical hack and slash game.

GastonArg: meh, It's not even a real metal gear, the story is very bad but if you like games like devil may cry (the first ones) this is really the game for you
Uh, It is a Metal Gear game. The story is better told than in MGS4, and has pretty decent storytelling all things considered.

Just that it actively mocks everything from MGS4, and rightfully so.
LOL @ all the people who preordered a typical console port.

I love how the story is either that it's unintended, like they tripped and accidentally spilled some DRM over it. Or that it's a problem with steam, a problem that no other game has.

You do not "guess-buy" it. You wait for reviews and user comments just to see that a game is garbage and save your money.
But yeah, like it has been mentioned here, people never learn...

I really have no patience for Kojima's inflated ego or preachy melodrama. I'll just play
Splinter Cell instead.

The game is very very good, and hard as hell on Revengeance difficulty (at least, if you wanna take all S ranks as I did on PS3).

If you play it on Easy, then you are wrong: you can beat it in two hours on that difficulty. Otherwise, if you try to learn and master the combat system on the highest difficulty, you will have a lot of fun from it.

Each DLC is about 1 hour long, but they are again very good, because they present two different characters, each with new moves, new animations and a new way to play the game (truly, just check Sam DLC).

If you want there are a TONS of VR missions, but I don't like VR so I just skipped them.

This game could be 40 hours long if you like, I spent 60 hours on it on PS3 without touching VR.

But if you are buying this for its plot, or for some tactical espionage action...don't do it.
Does it have online/local co-op?

inc09nito: Does it have online/local co-op?
Nope only SP.

Also I knew always online was too ridiculous too be true.

SCPM: It appears that the game crashing when Steam loses connection may be a bug with one of the .dll files:
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=748925
On a Konami related topic, one of their reps on the NeoGAF forum asks gamers to contact Konami directly in any way you can for any suggestions (like, say, bringing their games to GOG):

So far they've only wrote back to me that they'll make a note of the suggestion, I'm hopeful enough of us can make them take action. :)
I'd buy it from GOG _only_ if it has a functional offline mode! :)

Yet, that didn't prevent you from defending it, as in "aren't you always online on Steam if you play Steam games?". Didn't sound that ridiculous then, or...?

I really don't understand the hate on steam, If you don't like it, DON'T USE STEAM :p Before the post I thought it was a once online thing (like when you activate it), didn't know that you have to be online all the time and no offline mode is available. And yes, I don't know bout other people but when I play Steam, I'm always online anyway.

Plus read my other posts, I don't defend any billion dollar company since the money does not go to my pockets :)

People love to villainize steam round these parts.

Mr.Caine: People love to villainize steam round these parts.
And some like to pretend there is nothing wrong with it ever and all complaints against Steam are unfounded by default, for example when the offline mode fails to work or a Steam game requires you to be online all the time (bug or feature). It goes both ways.
