I don't mind Steam, but I typically avoid buying indie games there. Also, since I'm not of the instant gratification crowd (must have game now!) waiting a little doesn't pain me in the slightest.
Take King Arts's 'The Raven', for example. We know it'll come here but only after the third part will be released. Fine with me. I prefer a whole package approach anyway.

- Adventure games are very popular in Germany
- GoG doesn't do regional pricing nor region locks
When you take those three things into account and look at the price differences between those in Germany/Europe and those outside; it's no longer that big of a mystery anymore ;)
They only use regional pricing for the PC market. They are selling the digital Mac version for 19,99€ in Germany.
