I remember in one semester, I had a group project with some girls, and one of them kept using the 'Fail' meme to describe everything that could fall into that category. 'Epic' saw a fair lot of usage too, and it got so tiresome to the point where I wanted to just tell her to shut her trap. She wasn't a very nice person to work with, to begin with, or she would have been less insufferable.

She's not the only one. People in school are using it so sporadically, I'm going to swear off these memes. Their usages have gotten to a point where they're so saturated, they're not even funny anymore.

Hovis1974: I'm not exactly sure that it's a meme per se, but i always hated the "U mad bro?" BS
I always kind of found that one funny:)

wodmarach: All of them! No seriously every single one of the damn things...
I second that. :P
Any of the picture memes that have sprung up recently that already existed in another format

(Bad Joke Eel repacing Bad Pun Coon for example ._.)

AegisRunestone: In Soviet Russia...

orcishgamer: You back off and leave the /. memes alone!
NEVER! >:3
All of them.

That. Don't hate the meme, hate the guy who uses memes outside the internet.
There's a lot of those at my college, it's like living at 4chan.
It is not that I'm against memes, I just think they are way overused especially by those who obnoxiously try to shoehorn them into every thread. It is not unlike those who try to use slang in order to fit into a group, but wound up making themselves look foolish. No, you are not being hip just annoying especially when brought into the real world. You know a meme has died when you start seeing the shirts being sold in Hot Topic.

As mentioned, there are some memes I like such as lolcats (then again I am a cat lover), but there is a time and place for everything.

Wow, that girl seems like epic failsauce. Overusing memes FTL!

But, on topic, my major gripe is people that use internet/texting acronyms outside the internet. Like '"El--oh--el, double-u--tee--eff... double-u--tee--gee, 'tard!" followed by "Ess--tee--eff--u!" (or something similar). There was a commercial here in the states where a mother and daughter had a conversion only using texting terms (I think it was for cable or phone service); I came to loathe it.
After reading this thread, I wonder if it might be easier to ask what memes you'd allow to live.

PhoenixWright: I could do without

+1

and

/thread

Everything else I don't see often because I only really visit these boards.
the thread is a bit silly but it does say that "i agree with you and there is nothing else to be said on this topic" It is overused tough.

+1 is just that "I agree here have one extra reputation point" simple statement.
unless you say +1 and do not press the green button.

then you suck.

i thought arrow to the knee died few months ago?

I still can't get enough: "shut up and take my money" and "I am throwing my money at the screen and nothing is happening"
maybe i just saw the really good ones (like that one with fry and Schafer)

Not only was that epic, but it showed exactly what the internet was thinking back then.

I'd be glad to see them all go away, but these two are particularly overused and annoying, in my opinion. "Fail" is not an adjective, not matter how much people seem to want it to be.

Also, unless you're describing the journey of Odysseus, whatever you're talking about probably doesn't qualify as "epic". :)

I don't like memes, but crazy rants are the coolest things.
