ReynardFox: The success of this just goes to show how out of touch Capcom are. They really have no idea what the hell they are doing.

Neobr10: I don't know what the fuck Crapcom's executives are thinking. They're killing every single franchise they have with shitty games, DLCs and rereleasing the same game over and over again (yes, i'm looking at you, SF4). Why the hell have they forgotten about their most beloved character, Mega Man?
Probably looking at next quarter's figures and the size of their golden parachutes. In general many companies have executives that just care about share price and the figures for the next quarter. Which leads to all sorts of self destructive behavior.
I'm quite certain it will fund by next weekend, but on payday I think I will help try and reach that linux stretch goal.

Neobr10: snip
Japanese game development is very much focused on the work of the lead designer. Capcom just doesn't have the people to handle these big franchises anymore. Inafune, Kamiya, etc. everyone left. That's why they are sending their franchises to the west, not because they don't want to work on them but because they don't have anyone to work on them. Part of why I was surprised with how well Dradon's Dogma ended up.

Also, I'm playing Lost Planet 3 right now and I'm enjoying it. Granted the gameplay is alright, but the characters are great.
aww man another mega man look alike and play alike, this was a opportunity to do something innovative
They already have more in 2 days than P. Phoenix in 3 weeks. o_O'

Neobr10: But don't worry, we've got this Super Steet Fighter 4 Ultra Motherfucking 2020 Edition with Lasers from Hell which is basically the same game we've been milking for years to fool our fans. Awesome, uh?
Don't even get me started on Ultra Street Fighter 4. I was a huge fan of SF4, I bought both the original and arcade edition for PC, I bought AE because Capcom promised that after the free 2012 update, the game was done, that's it, definitive version, time to move on. But now, now they double fuck me by not only releasing a new version, but If I want it, I have to connect my game to Steam!

Yeah sorry Capcom, you lost me, there's only one way I'll be getting the Ultra upgrade, and it sure won't be from Steam.

Just a little over $20 000 to go. And then another $300 000 to the full eight stages, plus $150 000 to OS X & Linux.

Looking good so far :-)
Sounds interesting.
29 days to go and they've almost hit their base goal, this thing could end up pretty special. I'll definitely be getting a copy if/when it shows up here. Heck if it hits all it's stretch goals I might just get a Wii U copy too.

See all this money and support Capcom? That could have been yours if you weren't so clueless.

DaCostaBR: Keiji Inafune, the creator of Mega Man, is kickstarting his new game: Mighty No. 9.

Let's not mince words here, this game is a Mega Man game, it only carries a different name because Capcom still holds the rights to that.

And, good news, it's coming to PC on Steam and DRM-free.
Dude really is a one trick pony.

It's a pretty good trick. I wish I had one like it.

And I keep watching that trick from time to time with joy and glee. Also he added a trick extension called Legend that I love so much.
Color me intrigued. I'm not at all surprised that they've shot way past the funding goal already, sitting at its current $1.5m. This one could easily outdo any previous game with maybe $4-5m.

Sidenote: The founders of Kickstarter must be very happy seeing how much dough they're raking in these days, most of which seems to come from the video game section ever since Double Fine hit the scene there.

But ... but ... "Kickstarter fatigue!"

Seriously though, I'll back this if I get payed before it ends.
