MDK 2 already runs in "HD".
We need MDK 3.
Wow. There really is no end to creative bankruptcy.
How many sequels, prequels, reboots, "re-imaginations", HD conversions, and re-releases of old games on different platforms do we really need? Ah yes, there's always the odd new "IP" out there, which generally follows some cookie-cutter format so that you get the distinct impression of buying the same game again and again, except with a different title and packaging.
Anyone else remember the days when major developers tried something different every now and again, and the big publishers would actually support their efforts? Or am I just an old and cranky cynic?
Edit: for clarity's sake, I am not talking about "Indie" releases (i.e. games made by generally small developers and often released digitally or in some limited form in retail). And thank goodness for GOG.com.

MDK 2 is great, but I've always enjoyed the first better. Its humor was more incidental than the exaggerated slapstick humor of the second, so it pleased me more.
I'm guessing they don't have enough money to support a sequel...so yes, they're being creative. If it helps them get back to where they need to be, then I am happy.
I hope the MDK 2 upgrade is released here.

I agree. I haven't played MDK2 much, because I didn't find it nearly as fun to play as the first one. They should remake MDK1 instead, if they absolutely must do a remake.
That's one thing Ubisoft has done right in its time. They looked back on the Settlers series and figured out that Settlers 2 was really the best of them, so they remade that.

sadly developers stopped thinking about new games

I kind of agree. But don't forget that this is Interplay we're talking about here. Or rather, it's a failed company lead by failed management hiding behind the Interplay name. Every key person behind all the Interplay classics having left the company years ago.
So this fulfils their 'leeching off of old IPs' requirements while introducing them to the basics of actually producing a game. Which could lead to them producing a new title for once.

That's actually a very intelligent point! I've never heard it made before in case of remakes and special editions. It makes a lot of sense.

Thanks. Logic is my specialty. :P

I have my doubts. It will take a while, for sure. They will want to wring the most out of the regular outlets, as I don't think Interplay would be content with the $6 or $10 price tags they have here for what is sort of a new release (even if it probably won't be sold at full-price).

I am patient. :)
Can't blame Interplay. Wouldn't surprise me if GOG is one of the main reasons they're still around, so they certainly know the value of their back catalog.
