GameRager: Yes but if one is optimistic then one will naturally assume one or both conditions are true.....and even if some of those people he knew at EA and had pull with left EA they might know OTHERS who still work in positions of power at EA and can send the message down the line as it were.

Just a thought. :)

Wishbone: So... The optimistic viewpoint is that he's just a lazy dickhead? That's a novel approach to optimism.
It's probable, based on his past behavior overall, that he's just a lazy dickhead. Optimistically he probably does have some pull with EA, I mean someone was just saying he got them to work out a disgustingly complex financing deal for Alice 2 with Spicy Horse. That sounds like someone who still has pull at EA to me.
Just to let you guys know, the thread on the alice board is still open:

And you still can ask him (and risk a ban) for all it's worth.

Someone who can be better at wording might get him.

GameRager: The optimistic viewpoint is that he might be able to have some pull with EA....stop putting words in my mouth and being purposefully dense.
Sorry, it was just very tempting.

Seriously, my point still stands. Anyone who's gotten the same question a bazillion times already, and is in no position to do anything about it, is likely to get REALLY annoyed after a while.

You have absolutely no idea what sort of influence he has with EA. You'd just like to think that he does, since that would mean that it could happen that Alice showed up here on GOG. Since that's what you'd like, you choose to believe that this is so, and from that it follows that he's a lazy dickhead. Not because you have any evidence of this, but because you choose to believe that the reality of the situation is the one that best suits your needs.

Can you prove he isn't a lazy dickhead? I can get why being asked the same thing alot is frustrating but if all you give is the same reply when asked people are going to keep asking until you either make some effort to appease them or tell them to fuck off/read the FAQ.

I think if he did either one he could end his partially self-imposed frustration by doing one or the other. Trying to use any pull he has with anyone at EA or saying he is going to do this would at least garner him some extra respect from those asking at any rate.

Newsflash: He is telling them to fuck off and talk to the people who can do something. People just don't care. They keep pestering him about it.

If I was in his shoes, I wouldn't care to jeopardize my professional relationship with a publisher such as EA, by nagging at them incessantly about something they don't want to do.

I agree people should contact EA as well, but he could put a word in on behalf of his fans. How much time would that take him? An hour or so tops? And c'mon asking on behalf of his fans ONCE isn't nagging.

I'm sorry, but that's a ridiculous question.

Why do you seem to insist that he has any ability to have any influence on EA regarding their business decisions, especially on business decisions that concern IP owned by EA over which he has zero control? I've not seen any positive evidence to support any assertion that American McGee would have any meaningful impact on getting Alice on GOG, apart from far-reaching assumptions, wishful thinking, and a desire to point fingers (whether it be against him or EA).

Now, I want to say that I'm not defending American McGee or EA for any liability that they have with this matter - it's just frustrating to see an argument with zero logic repeated ad nauseam.

In any case, "Have you stopped beating your mother, GameRager?" ;)

Which, oddly enough, is essentially what he did in the first place.

1. And it's also an assumption to assume he doesn't have any pull with EA.....it goes both ways.

2. My mother is a saint! :P
