That seems kind of paradoxical..

The idea that default culture is White is pretty ancient... even if it wasn't, that's not the equivalent to that website at all. The equivalent would be:
"Here at McDonalds we know how special the White race is and how it has always lead the world in technology development and culture. We celebrate the White race by looking at European culture as a beacon for our business and we invite all Whites to see the special opportunities waiting for them at McDonalsa, where we understand how special the White race is. Like the great cathedrals of Europe the White race stands tall among others and commands respect!"
That would be called racism in an hour. It would be shut down within two. Hell, the very words "White pride" is synonomous with racism and hate groups...

It's basically guilt... we feel bad they were treated badly for so long, so we overcompensate and treat them as special people who can never be offended ever and who need special assistance. It's called reverse racism and is plainly obvious, but liberals will call the very idea of reverse racism insulting because the poor little minorities can't possibly get special treatment over the might Whites.
As someone else said, that notion itself is rather racist. Poor Black people can't get out of poverty or stop joining gangs by themselves, they need to generous White liberals to save them from themselves.

I've heard this argument several times, and every time it continues to strike me as bullshit. The vast, vast majority of Americans, have had very little money to pass from generation to generation prior to the last generation or two. And education of a significant portion of the populace is a fairly recent occurrence as well; going back to 1950 (right around the start of the civil rights movement) only ~5% of the population had a bachelors degree or higher, and only just over 30% of the population was high school educated.
As for cultural position, just what cultural position are you speaking of? Overall American culture has been shaped (and continues to be shaped) by the numerous racial and ethnic groups that are present in the country. Go back 200 years and maybe you can speak a bit about a general culture that favored one racial group, but that culture started changing and also fragmenting pretty fast as the country expanded and various immigrant and existing racial and ethnic groups added their own flavors to it. Visit different areas of the country and you'll see this pretty fast. Hell, you can see it easily even within single states. If you're ever in my home state of California head to LA, then the Bay Area, then the central valley and just observe people for a bit. And even where pockets of obvious discrimination exist today these often fall along cultural and ethnic rather than racial lines (try getting a job in a heavily Greek area if you're of Turkish ancestry).
So does racial and ethnic discrimination still exist in America? Certainly, both in overt and subtle forms. However, the way it actually plays out is far more complex than the erroneous and horribly oversimplified "racism exists and favors white people" view that you've taken. And espousing this view (and the continued focus on race that it brings) only serves to help perpetuate racial prejudices and hinder people being able to move beyond thinking in racial terms and simply view people as people.

Unfortunately, it seems that people (in general) just aren't ready to move past this notion of "settling old scores" and "balancing the scales." The ideal solution as I've always seen it is to just judge everyone on a case by case basis, but is it really possible? Unfortunately, probably not. Not for the majority of folks. You'll find too many people who view their lots in life as the result of some sort of imbalance... a deficit that hasn't been addressed, and until those scores are settled, they can't let those grudges go. And until that happens, you won't ever get anything even remotely approaching true "equality."

Malaysia is by far the most racist "thing" compared to any country / company / organisation in the world.
McDonald should take lessons from Malaysia to be racist.

Sorry for the late response but, yeah, we do have one for us. It's called meencanta.com. I basically don't mind this since this is a way for underprivileged youth in high risk neighborhoods given a chance to afford college.

White privilege. You have a bunch of white young kids who are told the reason minorities are poor is because they are lazy and not because of apparent racist policies that are aimed at keeping them disenfranchised. You have policies made by elites that were specifically aimed at white Americans after World War II to obtain cheap housing. This created the white flight and the rise of the suburbs which left the minorities which were in the inner city to fend for themselves.

Sure, you can point to individual communities and neighbourhoods that are undergoing significant cultural diversification. However, I tend to agree with jungletoad, as it seems obvious that at the US has still not come to grips with white privilege, at least not at the national level.

I used to think i understood this problem in America pretty well. I was always told that black americans were stuck in the cycle of poverty and that they acting overly victimized. I said some stupid things to people and I regret it now.
What I've come to realize is how much the different ethnic and social groups don't actually understand each other. I suppose this is true in many other countries as well. I think that the best thing people can do is to keep their mouths shut and keep their minds open. Things are never as simple as they seem in our heads, and often the truth is much more subtle than we expect it to be.
So before you start criticizing minorities, you should try to fully understand their perspective and culture. Of course its going to look bad from the outside, but things start to make more sense once you dig deeper into the cultural and social layers of the group.

While I agree that 'White Flight' and all the discriminatory practices that went along with it did occur, that was half a century ago. It happened before the Civil Rights Movement truly got rolling. Since Martin Luther King Jr., what has the african-american/black/colored/negro done to help their case? Nothing that I can see except bitch... and accept largess.
Asians don't bitch. Jews don't bitch (well, at least not about racism as much ;)), Muslims (Until the Patriot Act) don't bitch, and, as far as I have seen, hispanics don't bitch nearly as much as blacks. To mangle a Yoda quote: There is no bitch, just do or do not.
I remember an Chinese family run restaurant in the town where I grew up. I was a classmate of one of the children. She would go to school at 8am, then go homeat 3pm and study for several hours, then she would work the restaurant dinner service until midnight. That was every weekday, of course she worked full days at the restaurant over the weekends as well. Last I heard she was some sort of M.D. in California.
Sure, this is just one example. However, I have seen at least a dozen examples of the same thing with asian family and business culture in the US, with similar results. Show a child that they must work to succeed, and show them that they are responsible for their own choices. Then watch as they DO take responsibility and they DO succeed.
So, are blacks (and perhaps gypsies, though I don't know them) lazy? Maybe, maybe not. However they have not been taught how to succeed on their own. They see anyone telling them to take responsibility for their failures as racist. This is a cultural problem, not a personal one, however it must be stymied one person at a time.
