sweenish: I think that when considering the fact that Activision's timelines forced the developers' hands, causing the bugs, we arrive back at square one. there's a reason blur and split/second launched the same day.

i was sad that neither of them really impressed me, though. i'm holding out for a goty or ultimate box of NFS: hot pursuit.

the only acivision game i bought in the last couple years was prototype, but that was used.

trusteft: I thought that Split/Second (at least on the PS3) is a great fun multiplayer game. Single player although it has lots to do, it lacks the charm it has online.

I only tried the demo of Blur and I found it much better than I expected.

NFS:HP on the other hand, is for me the biggest disappointment of a racer since Dirt 2. It's way to arcade, it's more like Mario Kart in different clothing.
it's interesting that you compare mario kart to NFS:HP, but not blur. the whole point behind blur (the power-ups) is mario kart.

and again, you say that NFS:HP is too arcade, but not blur. in blur, that was exactly what they were going for was arcade.

to each their own, i guess. i enjoyed NFS:HP, but not blur or split/second. as for my preference, i tend to lean towards arcade racers anyway.

Those games push me towards wishing SEGA was the pub tipped to join GoG instead of EA.

EA's backlog is awesome, but I find SEGA's to be much more whacky, which I like!

Since I don't care about Blur
and
Blur is not part of any series
why would I care about Blur? I didn't buy Blur. I bought NFS.

Props to you, I don't click on link shorteners on forums. The internet has taught me some harsh lessons.

I however, was willing to buy Blur, until the reports of crashing and lockups came out. The squealing seemed louder than the normal internet moaning, so I decided to give it a pass.

And so, Devs or Publisher, who slit Bizzare's throat, really? One of you? Both of you?

I have no doubt we'll see more from many of you ex-Bizarre folks as you clearly have talent. You have to have a really outstanding game to get away with glaring release bugs (RDR) or perhaps a huge license (to print money - e.g. New Vegas). There's a lot of competition for the dollars and time we have to play games at release.

I know none of them read that, oh well...

but you played the demo, and you said that you liked it. and then you proceeded to complain about NFS. the blur demo more than clearly demonstrates your hypocrisy. all of your complaints against NFS more than apply to blur, yet you claim to have enjoyed that. let's not pretend that my logic is unfounded.

it's right in your comment.

GoG needs the first two Carmageddons...

And a great and powerful God needs to obliterate the 3rd one from the universe.

I guess you are missing a few cards off your deck.
I don't care enough for Blur to buy it, thus I don't care how good or bad it already is. Thus I have no reason to care if it is like Mario Kart or not. Understood?
i understand your ignorance. and the fact that you are avoiding the point.

you said you played the blur demo.
you said you liked the demo.
you complained about NFS.
your complaints apply directly to blur, which you claim to have enjoyed.
hypocrisy.

understood?

No you Einstein. I don't care about Blur and if Blur is like Mario Kart or not. What exactly is it you can't comprehend?
I don't care for blur, I don't care if it is like any other game.
I care for NFS, I care if it is like Mario Kart and I don't like that.
If you still don't get it, just forget it.

Let me see if I can clear this up for you two.

If I understand trustleft completely, all he's saying is he doesn't have any deep and abiding love for the Blur franchise (makes sense, it's a new property) so its resemblance to Mario Kart does not bother him and he was able to enjoy the demo. Need for Speed, on the other hand, he likes this franchise, so when they just push out crap that has little to do with his beloved franchise and seems to copy wholesale from a different one, he has a problem with that.

Make sense?
