I am partially deaf and even though I love Rock music, I am compelled to avoid it. However Manson does intrigue me considering that he too was once a journalist like I am now and led a difficult life.

It was one of my female friends who introduced him to me ( through his biography and not in person ) and I have to get around to reading it sometime.

I'm a casual fan. I have a copy of "Antichrist Superstar" and "Mechanical Animals" and while I will freak out to them from time to time they aren't disc I feel the need to have with me whenever I leave the house like "Nothing Shocking" or "We Sold Our Souls..."

I think Brian tries a little hard at times and I think given his demeanor he tends to be a little overly reactive (is that a word?) but I love where he is coming from and the more 'disturbing' the better. At the end of the day he shakes things up and I will always respect him for that.

Pretty much the only good thing about that p.o.s. of a movie.

I can listen to some of the music, but I don't think too much of him personally. Saw him on one of the late night shows and he showed up either stoned or drunk out of his mind. Why ever they let him on stage in that condition is beyond me. He couldn't put a coherent sentence together, perhaps that is him away from the microphone.

Long Hard Road Out Of Hell

He started out as a interesting musician and artist who made nice metal music and ended up as a joke. I respect his first albums up until Mechanical Animals but after that it went downhill.

The Beautiful People. That tune gets me every time. Both the tune and the text. That's when he was really good and could have been great. The next album was on par but then he went meh.

The first Resident Evil film is actually the best one because it follow the old and tried formula of a trapped few people in a claustrophobic environment with a relentless and sneaky opponent. It also does this well. It's a more than average A film in that regard.
I'd call it a well done and very entertaining film. Obviously those that don't like the genre or are fanboys of the games won't like it but there's no denying it is a good film. Well filmed, good script, good performance from the actors and post production is top notch. Overall by any standard it is a well done film and it is entertaining for most people.

I'm not sure you have to be a "fanboy of the games" to dislike the RE film(s), although I get your point. As so often it didn't really stay true to the source material, which is why fans of the franchise were disappointed. There's lots of wasted potential there, I think. On the other hand, they did have a few cool ideas for it, and overall the result is a fairly enjoyable Horror/Action flick, which doesn't feel much like the games -- not like the original, older games, anyway.

For what it's worth, it's still better than its even shittier sequels. :U
