The lack of Lords & Ladies is an atrocity.

I think people are just pissed that another Max Payne game got released. According to reviews it's pretty solid, and YouTube videos show it delivers pretty much what the first two Max Payne games delivered.

This one is pretty good for example, but the person playing just sucks.

Maybe because the said reviewers are all console tards who barely grasp the Glorious Master Race.

Also the multiplayer feature is overhyped .

Yup, I picked it up on release.

Pros:
Extremely solid, punchy, and visceral shooting mechanics .
Engaging story with decent voice acting.
Lengthy for a shooter.
Fantastic presentation/graphics.

Cons:
Max isn't as campy and/or witty as he used to be.
Over-edited cutscenes (like a Tony Scott film).

I can't comment on the multiplayer because I haven't tried it yet and honestly, it's been so long since I've played the first two I didn't even realize there was a three gun limit. But to call yourself a Max Payne fan and write this game off as "shit" because Max isn't the Noir caricature he used to be is just dumb; the gameplay is tighter and meaner than it's ever been.

I played for some hours the console version...

IMO if it hadn't the Max Payne name artificially glued on it it would a be an honest third person shooter, nothing special but nothing bad either.

You have your usual Gear of Warish gameplay of moving to cover, shooting the bad guys, move to the next cover, repeat, with honest graphics, but I didn't find anything even remotely Max Payne-ish in it, the weird ambiance of the first games is totally lost (at least in the levels I played), heck if anything the movie is closer to the first two games than this one.

You have the painkillers instead of regenerating health and the bullet time/jumping mechanics is still here, but as the enemies are most of the time camping behind cover you soon totally forget about doing any acrobatics and only uses bullet time to safely head shoot enemies while hidden behind covers.

Honestly I didn't minded the weapons limitation, it feels so much like a standard console shooter that I didn't even noticed it had limited weapons until somebody mentioned it in this thread.

But what kind of stupid moron though the "visual glitch" (for the lack of the better term) and the random word appearing on the screen was a good idea. I know some says it's a modernized version of the comic book cut-scene but I have to call BS on that, it's pretty lame and doesn't bring anything to the mix except an headache.

They lost me at multiplayer....

I can handle the limited weapons since he's a PI not a walking armory, but no Lords & Ladies, and multiplayer? Well, sir, they have crossed a line that shouldn't be crossed and I, for one, will not stand for it!

I can't say poopy sounds better.. maybe because i'm not native English speaker.

The only thing there that really screams NOT MAX PAYNE to me is the removal of graphic novel cutscenes. That's not a deal-breaker for me though.

Anyway I knew they would Rockstar-ize it... the only question for me is whether it is a good game, which it seems to be. Looking forward to playing it when I get home.
