Dont remember much about the first one. I liked the setting/look and the soundtrack had a John Carpenter meets the Warriors vibe. Bought the 2nd one off D2D really didnt like it, felt like it was trying way too hard.

he first one, if someone can remind me. Was the main character a wrongly accused convict or something? It was pretty much all evil gangs and corrupt cops you killed in it? Or am I getting them mixed

The first protagonist was rescued directly at the point of his execution actually.
Thats the story, the whole story... well almost.

Cool thing is, I own the disc version of manhunt 1 for pc boxed :3

I love the game Because its a GAME for 1 reason, Story in the first was win too

And yes the first is banned in the UK, But you can still find it plenty of places, Got banned a few months after release, Think my dad brought it when it came out too.

2nd was like watching hardcore turn to softcore though, There was some great parts in manhunt 2 though, Apparently the PC version is more violent than the console versions O.o
The first had a very amazing, gritty atmosphere. It felt like an ultra violent Running Man. The soundtrack was spot on and they put lots of effort into the game.

For example, take a look at all the recorded dialogue they made for this game.

Such a shame the second one was absolute garbage.

Fuzzyfireball: Snip
I was just listening to the soundtrack, Cant get much better than this
Hah speaking of which, I remember the Media Development Authority banned Max Payne 2 and GTASA, but Manhunt was publicly displayed on shelves. Hilarious.

Don't make compile a list.
I really liked the first one. The second was meh, as I was expecting a return of Cash. But the stealth gameplay is fun, and the uncensored kills in the AO version are absolutely brutal. I don't find it disgusting or anything, Postal 2 was far more offensive, but I've enjoyed playing both more or less.

At least I still have Manhunt 1 and 2 available to download on D2D since I purchased them day one. THinking I should reinstall them now.
postal collection here is better and funnier

Will get it, that's for sure.

Probably a good idea to backup the files. Who knows if D2D will pull the game completely...
Manhunt was basically some kind of interactive snuff movie. It was just a tasteless game produced for the sheer hell of getting a response. It got one, but that's all it achieved. I don't know a thing about the sequel but if it relies squarely on its notoriety, like the first, then it's absence is not something worth commenting on.
I played and liked the original Manhunt. Didn't find it very shocking. I'd say GTA is way more brutal. :D
Navagon agree 100% was think the samething myself.

Funny. Removed because of GameFly.

I knew they gave me a bad feeling for good reasons.
