Addition 2011-07-17 15.00: No more entries are accepted. I'll start the voting thread soon.
Addition 2011-07-13 13.26: Voting will start on Sunday, July 17. Make sure you have submitted your final entry before then.
Addition 2011-07-02 00.05: If you submit a piece, but later make another one that you prefer to use instead, changing the entry is fine up until the voting starts.
===================================
After the comic competition and the story competition, here is the final piece of this puzzle - an audio competition (emphasis on "this", I'll probably make more of them in the future).
Sorry for the wait folks, I had apparently managed to displace my original writeup so I went looking for it and finally decided to remake it from scratch.
Your task this month is to: Make. Some. NOISE!
More precisely, you may use whatever method you'd like to produce an original sound clip no less than ten, and no more than twenty-five seconds long.
Examples include, but are in no way limited to: screaming profanity into the mic, recording to Audacity or Windows' sound recorder; installing a tracker and creating a nostalgic sound loop; bringing out your midi keyboard and Audition, Logic, or whatever and building something that could be a fucking great orchestra piece if it were a bit longer; and squeezing that squeaky Pikachu toy of yours for the required time (don't forget to record it) while reciting something from Shakespeare.
Beyond the time limits, I also ask that you do not pick someone else's work (even with permission) and present it as is or with only light editing. Using other's work in yours is fine as long as it's dificult or impossible to recognise the original (reciting Shakespeare isn't using existing audio, so thats fine). Not that I'd know though, it's just more honest relying on your own skills. If you already have appropriate previous works produced by yourself, feel free to use them.
For hosting the final piece, there are various generic file hosting sites around ( et al.) and ones specialised for audio, allowing direct playing without first requiring a download (such as [url=http://tindeck.com]tindeck and ), and of course there's [url=http://youtube.com]youtube if you make it into a video (still image only, please).
If you submit a piece, but later make another one that you prefer to use instead, changing the entry is fine up until the voting starts.
__Dates__
* The competition began as soon as this was posted
* Creation time ends in the middle of July (I'll try to make a post about the 15th, though I cannot say exactly what day and time I'll remember to get online).
* Voting time begins with said post, though it'll be held in a separate thread, and ends as August starts, giving you two weeks to decide who made the bestest tune (again, I'll try to make an announcement post at Aug 1st, though it may be a day late).
* I'll make an announcement showing the final vote count in the week thereafter, and begin sending out prizes as the winners contact me.
__Voting__
Voters get 5 points to distribute among at most 3 candidates (all points MUST be used for the voter to count at all).
The participant with the most votes win and the rest follow in order, in case of a draw for a position, I'll let random.org decide.
__Prizes__
Pardon my fantasy-less approach to this as I pretty much just copy-paste the list from the last time. Higher positions get prioritized for limited items. Discs will get sent at my expense, just tell me where, if you choose them.
"$12 worth of GOGs" means 1@$9.99, or 2@$5.99, or 4 $5.99 at %50 off... etc - similarly for "$6 worth"
1st gets to chose TWO of these:
* $12 worth of GOGs
* $6 worth of GOGs
* Sam & Max season 1 (Telltale)

* Riven (disc, French) (limited:1)
* Deus Ex (disc, French) (limited:1)
* Caesar IV (disc) (limited:1)
