FraterPerdurabo: So this entire time I thought that it's going to be an MMO. What happened to the Bethesda / Zenimax MMO project?
Skyrim was always being announced as a singleplayer game. Bethesda stated quiet clearly that they'll continue to release TES singleplayer games. However, what is known is that Zenimax Media has opened an MMO division and from the Bethesda / Interplay court transcripts that it isn't a Fallout MMO they're working on - everything else so far is wild guessing.

Pffft, Magicka better than Skyrim? Maybe in the eyes of casual gamers. What a joke.

Oblivion was not a bad game all in all, it just was (for me) a let down compared to Morrowind and Gothic 3. Strangely what I missed most was the ability to fly around the world like you could do in Morrowind, and I liked the drab world of morrowind, it set a tone, a diseased land where only the hardy survive.
I didn't complete either Elder scrolls games, but I did rise to guild master in several of the guilds which is a fun little challenge I think. Gothic 3 I did beat, though by the end my main dude was killing most everything with a single fireball, so a little boring there.
Open world games are fun because of the graphics more than anything, it really makes you feel a part of the world you are in. To see the trees sway in the wind, and the veiw of a sunset from a mountain top is just gorgeous, or a waterfull spraying mist. Of course I'm really into fantasy books having read well over 200 I suppose, so I guess my imagination makes these games funner then it would for some people.
Really to each there own. I mean some people spend all their day playing solitare or some gem matching game, obviously people are quite varied, I'm sure some will love Skyrim, and almost as sure all the proffessonal reveiwers will give it 9/10 or better for the most part, just because its such a big name title and it will look great.
As far as gameplay goes, I doubt it will improve much over Oblivion and wouldn't be suprised if its a little worse, since consoles have an even bigger share of the market now (to my horror they will probably reccommend a gamepad to play it, bleh). Still though I have little doubt that I will lose myself in the world of Skyrim at least for a bit of time, and hopefully they will have a guild so that I will be called "Master!" =D
MUAHAHAHAHA!
