Those familiar with the flash based games and [url=http://amanita-design.net/samorost-2/]Samorost 2 might have already heard or known that their spiritual successor Machinarium is in the works.
Well a Demo has been released that features a small part of the beginning. Links:

Go grab it!
Machinarium is also on sale on Direct2Drive (25% off!)
Although if you purchase through Amanita Design's Site you get some nice bonus stuff like music tracks and hi-res pictures
The game is scheduled for release on 16th of October 2009 ;)

Just in case I'm not the only one who didn't know this:
Machinarium is listed as being DRM-free on Direct2Drive. I'd assume the copy you get directly from them would be the same way.
Neat stuff! :)

Indeed, they confirmed the copy you receive through them is absolutely DRM free. There are quite some games on D2D that are DRM-Free you can do a google search like this "site:direct2drive.com drm free" to have direct links to all those games.
Machinarium looks wonderfully crazy, like most things Amanita :)
TY for the heads up. Downloading the demo right now.

Awesome, thanks for the Google search tip. I've tried using Direct2Drive's own search engine for various wordings of drm free and the results seem different each time I visit.
samorost was awesome, so i have high hopes for this!
Thanks for the heads up. Love independent titles like this. I'll pre-order payday I think -- that soundtrack is too good to pass up. :)
The demo is...wow... Great graphics (and I'm not easily impressed), wonderful OST, the Samorost-ish feel and weird logic. Can't wait for the full game.
I enjoyed it, and I usually don't get along very well with point and click adventure games.
It's a very good adventure, looking forward to it. It's going to be out on the 16th I suppose.
I liked it. Loved the art style used in the game. Far better than even their previous efforts.
I'm looking into my buying options. Does anyone know if the Gamersgate version has DRM? I doubt it seeing as it's a Flash game, but you can never be too sure. It's the cheapest version I've found anyway.

It's marked as DRM free on D2D and it's $14,95 ?
How much is it on GG ?

Namur: How much is it on GG ?

For me the prices are: D2D: £11.50 GG: £9.71
You also get the added advantage of not buying from D2D.
That's including the 25% discount in both cases, by the way.
I bought it on steam, did not play it yet, but love the art style from pictures, and impressions are great, so why not?

I just checked and to me on GG it's 11,21€ ($16,48)
On D2D, US storefront since the game is marked as available worldwide there, it's the $14,95 i mentioned.
Not a big difference, and surely not one that justifies using D2D if you don't like it. And i didn't even looked into the $-€ vs £-$ differences but i suspect that makes the difference even more neglectable...
As for the DRM free aspect on GG, i would assume it is DRM free, but i can't be sure.
