I have just started playing Ultima Underworld. The game starts in full screen mode and it doesn't seem to want me to go into windowed mode. Sometimes I like windowed mode.

I am thinking I will just download the windows version then stick it in boxer but I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a file in the package that could perhaps be edited to allow it to go into windowed mode.

thanks!

Since Boxer is a Mac port of DosBox (I think?) I'm assuming the game folder will contain a file called something like [filename].conf. That should be the DosBox configuration file, and you can tweak all sorts of settings in there, including fullscreen options.

Nope, tried that, just does a little beep and stays in full screen mode

All the DOS games I've played from GOG use OSX's native fullscreen mode for fullscreen. What version of OSX do you have?

I'm sorry, why does your Ultima Underworld folder contain configuration files for TIE Fighter and I Have No Mouth But I Must Scream?

I would like to say because those games are coming soon to gog, but that is probably unlikely. I am guessing they just stuck a bunch of random conf files in the package.

nope. seriously. There are about 30 files. some generic like 386 or 486 or pentium then there's ultimo 7, turrican 2, need for speed, earth siege and a few others. I'm not sure too much can be read into it...
well i can't figure it out.

i thought i found the right config file "DOSBox Prefences.conf". then i added this in:

fullscreen=false
fulldouble=false
fullresolution=1024x768
windowresolution=1024x768
output=opengl
hwscale=2.00
autolock=true
sensitivity=100
waitonerror=true
priority=higher,normal
mapperfile=mapper.txt
usescancodes=true

nothing change. still full screen still can't get it into windowed mode. and the windows version doesn't have a proper exe file so i don't know how to get that to work in boxer either. sighs.

any other suggestions would be appreciated.

What key combination are you using? DOSBox fullscreen is Option+Enter, as with Alt+Enter on Windows, unless something has changed.

I'm using boxer but I have tried command f and alt enter and heaps of other key combinations. Maybe it's just not possible.
