After the brief discussion yesterday about Monkey Island, someone told me that LucasArts would be at E3. Brilliant! Except not. They have a "surprise Star Wars" announcement to make.

After reading the words "Star Wars" my blood started to boil. I've had enough of it! They already embarrassed themselves enough with Kinect Star Wars and now they have more of that shit? What gives!?

So here's what I'm thinking. In the few short days we have before E3, I propose locating journalists who are heading to E3 and contacting them to ask them to approach the LucasArts representatives and ask about the classic adventures, essentially boiling down to "Why are there only 4 classic digital releases?" and "Why are you not on GOG.com yet?".

If you yourself are heading to E3, then find track them down as well. Taunt them with money; "I'm not giving you this until you put Monkey Island on GOG!"

I've already emailed the editor-in-chief at Kotaku. Hopefully I'll get a response. If you care about LucasArts please do the same, and email all your favourite journalists who you know are going to E3. We only have a few days left before the conference starts and we all know how important the classic adventures are and how confusing and offensive it is that they're not getting the proper treatment.

I'm not all that big on gaming journalism, so I'm not entirely sure what sites would be visiting. Kotaku are the only ones I'm really sure about. I'm pretty sure some others here are going to be in the same position so I think we're gonna need to come up with a list of journalists to email.

Anyway, it's time for me to shut up and for you to get on with Lobbying LucasArts.

If they were the originals, I would count them as the 'classic releases', but they're essentially new products.

At any rate, even 6 is a tiny fraction of the goldmine LucasArts is sitting on. I don't think we should get stuck at simple things like that, the important thing here is that LucasArts have games that we want and we have money they want.

If journalist were to ask LucasArts directly about this, they'd be far more likely to respond than to fan e-mails. I'd say it's definitely worth a shot.
Not another Star Wars crap . :(

Full Throttle, Sam and Max and Day of the Tentacle? Yes please.

Absolutely. We're not journalists who are going to E3 though so find your favourite gaming site and email the editor. Tell him to ask LucasArts what's up with Full Throttle!
Think threatening them via e-mail would work?

Except they're not sure they added a new graphics MODE and new sound but the original game is still there as is the scumm engine it's still tSoMI1+2

Oh and I count 8 maybe 9 games that LA released most people know other than those 6 so thats almost half their classic catalogue not great but not bad either.

Problem is they stopped releasing 'em after their new CEO or whatever took over.

Well I don't think the OP meant threatening. Usually "If you don't put your games on GOG I will cut you up with a rusty metal ruler and hang your entrails by the dockyards" will not work in terms of building bridges with companies.

I think "I will give you money if you do this" is kind of the opposite of threatening. I dunno though, maybe some societies frown on buying things?

I don't think the current LucasArts "leadership" is interested in building bridges with anybody...
Guys have you forgotten what LucasArts did to Free Radical?
Star Wars Kinect: The New Chapters
