Aliasalpha: Ahh yes, I remember that. I'd forgotten the droid building part, they really shouldn't have been in the prequels at all, they always felt shoehorned in
You think? Hell, all the "future references" seem completely unnatural. They all seem like stuff that, if it had actually happened back then, would have surely been mentioned in the original trilogy.

lucasartsgames: An annoucement is coming soon
lucasartsgames: Announcement in just 3 days
lucasartsgames: Big news in 2 days
lucasartsgames: The mystery revealed tomorrow!
lucasartsgames: Only 6 hours till the announcement, watch the live web feed to catch it first!
lucasartsgames: Its almost here!!!
lucasartsgames: I just had coffee in my Boba Fett mug, it was nice
Navagon: it was another lacklustre announcement. If Lucasarts insist on drumming up hype for each small thing they do then they're going to find that people are rapidly losing interest in anything they have to announce.

LOL spot on! They'd naturally include a link to the Boba Fett mug on their store page. Just so you can enjoy your coffee that little bit more. Their generosity is staggering.

Mind you, it is a pretty sweet mug.

You drink out of the top of his head? Why is it my first thought upon seeing that was that they should make a Hannibal version of that mug?

bansama: Well, we all hated the prequel trilogies.
I guess that's true. I've just remembered being dragged to a midnight showing of Episode 1 and once it finished, my Star Wars loving friend was in shock. He actually dragged me to it a second time just to see if he imagined it being so poor.
I think it was that annoying Jar Jar thing that really did him in. There's no Jar Jar-whatever in KOTOR right? (Or if there is, can you at least kill it?)

KoTOR's great. Absolutely, one of the best RPG's ever great.
I don't really like Star Wars much, either - they're not bad and one or two of them were really great (Ep2, Ep5), but IMO some of them are just a tad silly (RoJ with all the ewoks, Ep I with Jar Jar, the kid who couldn't act and the midochlorions business, Ep III and me not being able to stay awake because the movie is so boring).
The game's a prequel, so you don't have to be an obsessive fan. There's lots to love for SW fans, but you don't have to be one to enjoy it. The game was so great, I remember after buying it, it getting passed around my whole office. I'd lend it to one person, they'd rave about it, someone else would ask for it, etc. I got it back about a year later. Some of these were people who almost never played games, too. It's really a phenomenal game. The graphics weren't that great, even then, but the gameplay holds up great. Awesome story, too.

I wouldn't hold your breath. That one was getting the cold shoulder before it was even released. In any case, if that community mod really is likely to be finished this year, it would be worth holding out for that now. Tying your copy to Steam might affect your ability to mod it too.

KOTOR is one mighty great game, and that's one mighty fine price. I'd call it a definite instabuy deal if it came to GOG. I will keep waiting for that, myself. ;)
