I subscribed to the Lucasarts Twiiter feed, but it drove me insane, I had to unsubscribe before I started a killing spree.
Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate that KOTOR is now digitally available, but If anything the relentless drip feeding of information is now starting to turn me off.
Someone else picked up on this that the hype they try and use is just turning people off.

lukaszthegreat: any news about kotor2 being on steam or dd?

Not a peep, but seriously, that game was way too buggy. I know like most others have said that the restoration project is underway, but I think BOTH of them are dead.

Nah Team Gizka are still working. They are in closed Beta at the moment. There is one more Beta release which will be an RC then its released to the public. If you check their tracker on Mantis you can see they are still working, mostly just Dashus himself though. The problem is everytime they fix something they find even more bugs to deal with. Obsidian really fucked up KOTORII royally although the blame is really with Lucasarts for rushing it to release.

i played it. finished it once. then finished it once again.
a year later i finished it twice in a row again.
now i want to finish it again and again...
with all those stupid bugs, with cut content, shitty design it is still one of the best rpgs out there.
Im sad to say had to buy KOTR on steam i have waited years to be able to replay that game for some reason when you complete endar spire the game would crash on the escape pod cut scene.
If and when the game comes out on Gog i will re purchase it again. This game is a truelly brilliant game one of biowares finest.
Although buggy and unfinished i would love to see the sequel on digital format. I still enjoyed the game even though i was left disappointed in the rushed ending.
I think that with all these Lucasarts announcements, we need to play some sort of announcement bingo during PAX/E3/Comic-Con and other places to see who can nail the announcement most accurately. Winner gets a something or two. I'll get right on that, if anyone's interested. ;)
To all that bought it on Steam or D2D, did they add widescreen support or do you have to makes the modifications yourselves?
I don't think steam optimise games in any fashion. At least if my copy of Hitman is anything to go by

Put me down for some kind of lightsaber pen that makes annoyingly loud saber hum noises as you write. It'll feature sophisticated motion sensors, powerful speakers, run on a pair of AA batteries, cost as much as a new release game and have enough ink to write for about 3 days

I know what you mean. Great game, but still available in most major retail stores, so not exactly something that had me jumping up and down.
Monkey Island was bigand they did release some of the classic SCUMM games like Loom and The Dig, so eventually there will be something else good, but they're going to milk their back catalague if there's a profit in holding on to an IP that might be related to something new. I'm expecting Full Throttle released around the same time as Schaeffer's new game Brutal Legends or whatever it's called (assuming it comes out and everyone isn't still suing each other). Maybe we'll get real lucky and get Grim Fandango, too. It'd be senseless from a marketing viewpoint to release these games before that.
i want Grim Fandango and DotT. I'm expecting the next game to be something like Afterlife.

I'd rather like it to be Afterlife. Then again I'd want it to be on GOG so I could get the soundtrack

I remember playing the demo of Afterlife; it was pretty fun. If only LucasArts would get their act together and put their games on GOG.

Obviously you haven't been tracking the TSLRP 'drama', namely a betatester's threat about leaking/releasing the 10b.10 (or 10b.11) and how that, in an direct or indirect manner, lead Dashus to post a statement about how he hasn't written a single line of code in the last couple of months beacuse he has a new girlfriend or something. Since Team Gizka is Dashus, no progress is being made, period, and the already slim chances of this mod ever being finished keep decreasing.
Also, they stopped using Mantis a (long) while back, so that doesn't tell anybody anything
On a related note, there's a brilliant/hilarious piece of writing by MarciKiser on this thread over at the TSLRP boards that sums up the whole state of affairs quite nicely for those who haven't been paying attention.
MarciKiser whoever you are, respect.

Well that will teach me to not look in on the forums. It does look pretty bad. I guess I can still have hope but it seems Dashus has indeed packed it in. Ironic given how Gizka said they were not going to fizzle out like the guys working on the Droid Planet.

You're right, it looks pretty bad. Let's just hope the other restoration project really gets released soon...

Don't forget about TSLRCM They seem to have taken it upon themselves to finish and at a quicker rate by not being too ambitious.
