So in short, you'll just keep wearing that tin foil hat of yours. That's all you had to say =)
Now that I can get most of old Lucas Arts games on Steam I guess I'm somewhat satisfied, but my copy of Grim Fandango broke last year and been looking for it since in digital form, when Steam announced that Lucas Arts was coming I was so exited but then, no Fandango for me :(
Oh well, at least I got Loom and Monkey Island: Special Edition.
Yeah I've got my hopes on Grim Fandango being re-released in the next batch. If not that then given the Monkey Island SE treatment
I hope not, I love the visuals in Grim Fandango as they are, sprucing them up should be a crime.
These games are available on Direct2Drive as well. Just FYI.

Basically I just want a higher resolution & antialiasing
I really hope LucasArts is willing to cooperate with GOG in the near future. I really like the GOG philosophy and dislike Steam's...
Near future is unfortunately not likely. Maybe in the distant future, when sales of their titles is getting low on Steam, they might find it interesting to release them through other distribution channels to attract more customers.
Well if they're on direct2drive already it could be a good sign that they're trying to branch out more. What are D2D like on DRM? Might even be a good sign that they don't want to religiously adhere to activation based protection ilke steam

It depends on the game, but they're not really very clear about it. Some games are DRM-free, others require a one-time activation with D2D at install time. Some also come with publisher DRM.

if it IS drm free, they'll be clear about it. most come with publisher drm.
I'd heard good and bad things about d2d so I sort of figured it was a case by case situation
Gah, the D2D-versions appear to be NA-only. Shit.

They have a "DRM Free" logo on some games, but it isn't clear is which games require you to activate the installation with D2D and which ones don't.
Um, I'm confused. If t requires activation at all, that means DRM of some kind, so how are they DRM free?
