who thinks the lord of the rings games are awsome,

and more important, who thinks there should be MORE lord of the rings stuff?

frankly, i'd like to see a Willow game, if anybody remembers that old movie. it had Val Kilmer in it if that jogs any memories.

also, what movie do you want made into a game?
I remember Willow. Quite enjoyed it at the time, but I don't think I'd be interested in a game based on it.

Can't actually think of a movie offhand that I'd like to see a game based on, but I'd love to see a game based on C.J. Cherryh's books of Compact space (The Chanur series).

My friend still rags on me about when we went to see "Willow" in the theater. Warwick Davis made me laugh, but it seemed I was the only one. When they found the kid in the river and he says "Don't touch it! We don't know where it's been!" I lost it.

But anyway, I loved the Battle for Middle Earth games; I wish they would bring those here.
I wouldn't mind an RPG of Children of Hurin, that's my favorite Tolkien novel, mostly because of the moral ambiguity which seems he dumped in Hobbit and LOTR, Simarillion as a whole is an awesome "book"
I wish they'd make a LotR RPG.
Try Lord of the rings online, very good single player rpg :D (only 5% is for gruop/multi, rest are for single play).

They actually did make a Willow game for the NES and it was pretty good for the time. Shouldn't be too hard to find and play if you're fine with Emulators and roms.

I already did, but because it's an MMO it doesn't satisfy. I know grinding is the bread and butter of MMORPGs, but spending hours upon hours on picking up flowers and killing small beasts isn't the kind of excitement I have in mind when thinking of Middle-earth... Besides, I just dislike getting attached to online-only games. Their lifespan is limited and once it's over, the game is gone forever. I like revisiting my favorite games decades after they are released.

And there is also a home computer Willow out there as well: http://www.mobygames.com/game/willow
Never played it though.
The NES release was pretty fun, though far from perfect.

As for LOTR games, I've never been really impressed by them. I also don't like the LOTR books (but I did enjoy the movies, both the recent ones and the old animated one that they only made a part one for, and that was not the return of the King childrens movie)
if they came to gog i would buy them... anything to expand the lacking hack-n-slash content here on gog.com ^_^

Basically by popular opinion:

Lord of the Rings Online

Battle for Middle-Earth

The Movie game of the Two Towers
Has anybody ever played War of the Ring? It was a good game, but I lost my CD, and can't find anyplace to get it from, legally or illegally :(
I thought The Two Towers and Return of the King were surprisingly good, especially by movie tie-in standards. The Battle for Middle Earth games were solid. The Third Age seemed like it had some good ideas, but I never actually finished it.

I was tempted a few times to try LotRO, but never pulled the trigger. I've never actually played any MMO's anyway.

Don't you think it's about time you did something about it? :P
