I generally find that I don't like games made after films because most of the time they are a rushed affair who's only intent is to cash in on the short term post movie release market. A handful manage to generate longer success (Lord of the Rings and Starwars franchises come to mind).
Also a lot of the games tend to be, well, very much follow the leader as you play out the exact story that you saw in the films. Few ever go far enough to actually consult the book source from the film (most films have a book source somewhere) to enhance things.
In other news - I'd really really like them to re-licence the Battle for Middle Earth series of games. I never did get a chance to get the second and its expansion (kept putting it off) and now its mostly gone from any market because the licence is up.
