As it happened, i just went out to take out the trash and returned home with CD's of:

-Day of the tentacle
-Sam and Max hit the Road
-Warhammer Fantasy Dark Omen
-Warhammer Fantasy Shadow of Horned Rat
-Warhammer 40k Final Liberation
-Warhammer 40k Chaos Gate
-Warhammer 40k Rites of War

Does anyone have any idea how well these work or do not work in win8.1 and if there has been any talk about adding these on GOG? Ive played through Day of the tentacle, Sam and Max long time ago. Chaos Gate i didnt finish, but played for quite while. The rest ive never played but was quite interested in long time ago.

I do not have cd drive in my computer, so i have to get external one if i want to even try playing these.

I believe Tentacle and Sam & Max should work in ScummVM, which is kind of like an emulator for old adventure games (it runs on any platform, Windows 8 included). Dunno about the others.

There were actually quite few other games like Diablo 2 expansion, Warcraft 3, some Vietnam fps, Dungeon Keeper Gold and few others - but those i have already, so i just left them on VERY visible place there in case someone else happens to follow in my steps.

intersting, i have to look into that. thanks. Would be nice if its possible just to copy the games to hdd and play from there though. id rather not have the external cd around all the time.

As noted, Sam and Max and Day of the Tentacle should be fine in ScummVM. The other ones though... I think Shadow of the Horned Rat can run in DosBox, but I think it might take a lot of tweaking to get it running. I don't know about Dark Omen, but I believe that Chaos Gate (excellent game, by the way), is pretty much broken on modern computers. You might be able to get it running, but I hear it'll crash fairly early on. Not sure about the others either.

Edit: Sam and Max and Day of the Tentacle, when you use them in ScummVM, shouldn't need the discs.
