Hello, I'm trying to find the name of a really old game I played maybe 10 years ago, I will try to give as much information as I can - it's a turn based strategy game, very similar to the Heroes series, there were lots of factions, I remember few and their units. One of the factions were lizard-like creatures, I think each faction had 10 units, I'm not sure, I remember the strongest unit of the lizard-like faction was a brown basilisk, there is a human faction, strongest unit is a blimp, also I remember an undead faction with a knight that could drain health and I think the last unit was a ghost that transformed into other units, there were also red and white dragons, and a dryad creature which transformed the land into grass after her.. Umm, I'm not sure how helpful is this, ask me any questions I will answer them according to what I remember!
Isn't that Age of Wonders?

Here you can take a look at the units:

I haven't played that game, but I think this may be it.
Can't believe it but, I guess this is it, and it took you 5 minutes.. thank you :)
You're welcome. It wasn't hard, just typed turn based strategies and looked for a game released about 10 years ago, then checked the units to see if it match. Found out the zeppelin and I don't think there are many games like these where you control a zeppelin.

Also, one of the screen shots on the gamecard says 'Install Dire Penguin' - How rum!
Age of Wonders isn't a really old game T_T

For me both Age of wonders games are FAR superior than any HOMM game.

Mostly because it has more tactics in it. For example, you may exhaust your enemy by simply taking over all of his mines, etc etc.

Each race has some basic infantry units, but many of them are pure unique, like forementioned basilisks or trolls, or spider queen's etc etc.

Strongly recommend this. 12 playable races in base game speak for themselves.

You know, "old" is a relative term, and the scale varies with the object it's attached to. For instance, a human from 1999 isn't very old at all, while a cheese sandwich from 1999 is really, really, REALLY old. A computer game would fall somewhere between the two.

Not if it shows an image of Jesus!

It makes me sad that cheese sandwich barley even get to experience the world.

I might just add Age of Wonders to my wish list. I started HOMM and the game when from “hard” to “bitch slapping hard” in just one level. I like the idea of being able to starve an enemy to a weaken state. It suits my playing style.

Why not? Some people consider even 6 months old game being really old. :P

I have found God
Yep. All units has morale and they need to get paid (upkeep). If you cut your enemy from his gold resources , most of his units will abandon him.

There are also many spells you may cast on game's world, to cause dieseases, rebellions in enemy's cities or even something that simple as summoning magic forest on undead army grounds to weaken their morale.

How cool is that? ;)

oh, you may also burn the cities near your enemy's "main base" to make sure he will never get huge chances to grow up. but you must remember that death oriented (magic spheres are divided into opposite elements, like fire water life death etc) mage may bring entire cities back from the dead to serve him ;D
