thornton_s: That's how i'll be playing it. I'm buying it simply for the musical score and voice overs.

Gremmi: Switching back to classic mode removes everything new, voice-overs, score, the lot.

Well that sucks, i thought the sound would remain the same.

captfitz: Graphics: 128 MB with Shader Model 2.0 capability
really?!

Isn't it multilayered 2d images at HD quality? Braid has unusually high system requirements for a game as simple as it is, I figure its the same situation

Thats not classic though, imagine the hysteria from the 5 people to whom that genuinely matters

It's been unlocked on Steam now. It's not in the "New releases" list yet - but click on it under "Coming soon" and you'll find that the option to buy has been enabled.
Oh and the price is 8.99 Euros.

Indy 4, The dig & Loom are all talkies in the classic style, i just wanted MI1 & 2 remaking as they were never released as talkie versions. Dominic Armato really shines as Guybrush.
By the way whats with 2.5GB download, i thought it was 500mb? Released it right on out peak time the download speed will suck, not to mention me ISP will probably kick me off for excessive usage during peak times.

The PC version is 2.5GB??? What the hell could that extra 2GB be doing??
Also a 3GHz CPU? Damn that wasn't even a wet dream when the game was originally designed

Jesus, it's not Crysis-level graphics they're tolling here either, it's essentially a hand-painted 2D point-n-click. How in the infinite cosmos did they manage to blow up the size into 2.5 GIGAbytes?
The original came on what, 3 floppies?
The popular theory is that the 360 version is heavily compressed at 500MB (there's reports of the voice acting being extremely tinny sounding and some of the backdrops looking a bit artifacty), but even so, 2.5GB is absolutely massive.
Well the only complaint I have is the lack of lip synch but its no drama, the sound is fine and the switch between modes is excellent. I just tried it (and got an achievement) and the voice moves in time to how I was reading the line in my head
OOOOOOOHHHHH Big negative, the shameless ad for Loom no longer flashes up <ADVERTISEMENT> as an additional joke

Just bought it and d/ling it now.
2.5GB isn't that much, especially if it contains a lot of higher quality voice work, music, high res texturing, etc.
It also may include special features (not sure just thinking) like perhaps commentary, etc like Valve does with their own games which can take up lots of space.
I'm disappointed in the bad controls.

stonebro: I'm disappointed in the bad controls.

Is that the PC or Xbox version ?
That's probably a silly question since the subject header says xbox live in it, so ignore it, i need sleep. After i play some monkey island first though.

Tiscali. Tthey used to warn you that you would be put you on a crap connection, with all the other heavy users if you downloaded large files within the peak hours 6-12pm. I think it applies more to filesharing programs than individual file downloads though.

Ah yes, a while ago they used to be *alright* but as I understand, now they're absolutely atrocious. I would highly recommend Be Broadband or o2 if you have an o2 mobile.
