JudasIscariot: For anything mostly. I just want to clean up some of the aftereffects of scanning (obvious pages, creases, etc).

Sachys: GIMP or photoshop should do for individual page edits and I think they should be fine for editing pages from PDFs that aren't locked, but if you want to export something like a full 20 page manual... not too sure.
Yeah I can do that but there are two problems:

1. exporting to image throws the ENTIRE page order out of order :)

2. some manuals go into triple digits as far as page count is concerned :)

I might try editing a PDF in Photoshop but I need to learn how to make it select the whole thing instead of individual pages :) I am still a newb at Photoshop :)

Anyways, I derailed the thread too much already :)

Hmmm... can you not edit the page etc then reorder with acrobat?

Sure, I can edit the page but I need to edit 100+ pages at times :)

yeah, i mean do the edits in gimp / ps, and just use acrobat to ensure the page order is right / compile / export..
otherwise i think you'll be looking at spending some money - if indeed a package is available with the features you require as i don't think the likes of Scribus have them.

Your other option would be to pay me to do it! ;)
I have tons of beer. The end.
I'm at home. And I bought Jack Keane 2 today.
Try to beat this! :)

The problem with .pdf files is that they are a final production format designed to accurately reproduce a document on screen or in print. This means that they are inherently not flexible as far as editing. Your best bet will be to use Acrobat Pro for editing text, photoshop for graphics and indesign to pull it all back together and spit out the finished doc. Obviously it depends on the exact project but I do not think there is a single tool that can handle all the aspects of revising pdfs for you.
We have a famous meme about New Year's Eve in Poland :D

The girl is basically asking about his plans for NYE and his answer is "I'll be playing a game". "Which one?" she asks. "Tomb Raider!".

True, but at least it's obvious how irritated this guy was because of that question :D

Falcon 4.0 confirmed!
soooo... :)

1 hour to go, I've finished The Stanley Parable (not mindblowing as I expected but very enjoyable) and 3 beers...

and I think I won't continue further, I'm quite sleepy so I'll probably just watch a quick tv show and will go to sleep the moment pyrotechnics hit the sky :D

thanks to all of you, I wish you all the best in 2014, mainly for us to be healthy (!) and happy, have all the time in the world to play games or do just the things that we enjoy, and of course to love and be loved, as that's the stuff that matters (though I'm still looking into it, seems stupid that the grand LIFE(tm) would have just one proper meaning)

take care!
Watching Sandra Bullock's movies all the night. Best NYE ever :)

Happy New Year people !!! :)

(edit)

Listening Pear Jam - I'm happy now :)

We had some friends visiting our tiny apartment earlier today, eating and drinking here. But around 9pm or so they wanted to head downtown to drink and look at the fireworks, but I just couldn't care less, especially knowing all the restaurants are already shock-full of people, and it will be near impossible to get a taxi back at night.

And I was feeling a bit tired too (almost fell asleep on the sofa already earlier), so we decided to stay home instead. We watched a movie, had a short semi-romantic session on the balcony watching some fireworks around here, and got back in. Now my gf is chuckling at the "Zombie Strippers" movie on the TV while I'm on the laptop (I've seen the movie already before).

I've had three beers (cans) today, ate some chips and chocolate too. Enough partying for me for today, I'm actually a bit exhausted of the work this week.

I just don't generally enjoy going to bars that much anymore, except very occasionally with certain friends I see quite seldom (like once or twice a year, they are so busy with the "real life"). I'd like to go to a cruise soon though. I think now the cruises are cheaper too, with all the pre-Christmas parties over etc.

I don't know what we do tomorrow, no work then, it may be two of her friends come over, I don't know why but whatever, welcome I guess. I hope they don't stay too long since it is wasting my day off.

Oh yeah, happy 2014.
