evilguy12: Thinking about buying it. Didn't enjoy Braid really and this is the same "artsy platformer" genre.

KavazovAngel: How dare you!? Braid is one of the best games ever made! :'(
I tried to like it but pretty much got bored after an hour. It's not that I don't like puzzle games, it's just that I didn't it very immersive or engrossing.
Uhm uhm, I'm interested (and that's a news these days....)....

I only played the demo, but I honestly could not get into it. I have been fairly hyped about the game, and I was looking forward to it for the PC, but I could not see the big draw to it after playing the demo. It was nifty and I will likely end up getting it during a holiday sale or something, but so far I am not sold on it.

People keep mentioning the atmosphere. Does it get better/more immersive as the game continues? Maybe the demo just was not long enough?
Got it yesterday. Wow. The game is emotionally draining. I cannot play it for more than a couple of hours without fearing for my emotional state.

Is it because it's too depressing or something? It's probably going to have a similar effect on me... I kinda don't like that it has a nightmare feel. I'm getting tobe's vertical adventure first and then i'll get it.

As for braid, the game is all about the mind-bending experience of manipulating time and solving puzzles (and with the exception of the 1st world, it was magnificent in that, the last level is something that has to be experienced :)). The story could simply be ignored. On the other hand atmosphere (and story?) in limbo seems like a crucial part of the gameplay, making it resemble nifflas' games more perhaps?

KavazovAngel: Does Limbo have any interesting gameplay features?
You die. A LOT

Its awesome! Nice & creepy game with some cool puzzles

Its not like a horror game or anything, its just in black & white with some creepy visuals, makes it an unusually oppressive feeling in places. Really works well to make you feel isolated & alone though

As much as VVVVVV or Super Meat Boy?

Does it have as many checkpoints, or do you have to start the level over?

Not quite as much, but the deaths are pretty gruesome, especially when you consider that you are a little boy in the game. You can die from falling, being crushed, impaled, torn apart, beheaded etc. When you die you are simply reset to the last checkpoint. You don't usually lose much progress when you die.

Nope.

+1. Most overrated game released in a while. I bought it day one (360), it was solid and I enjoyed it but some of the game of the year praise it got was ridiculous. Considering it was vastly inferior to Super Meat Boy (meaning it wasn't even the best of the year in the platforming genre), it gets way to much credit. Nice to see it on PC though
Finally! :D

Don't do it, unless you try demo or something. It is the same thing over and over again. Go for Spelunky (free), it is much better.
Just thought I'd drop in here to say buy this game if you can afford it at all. The atmosphere is a work of art. You don't even get all that mad when you die, just kind of laugh nervously.

It gets all the credit due to the great atmosphere and art style.

ooh you get mad if you're trying for the "Complete the game whilst dying less than 5 times" achievement, thats a hell of a challenge

After the electrified sign I literally gave up on ever completing that achievement. So I just kept laughing:)
