but, here goes anyway.

Playing Two Worlds (really cool btw) and I'm at the beginning stages of the game, exploring in Thalmont, and this music plays that just floods me with wonderful memories, but they aren't identifiable memories. I only KNOW I've heard this music in another game that I apparently liked.

Anyone that familiar with Two Worlds music AND whatever game I'm trying to think of?? LOL, I'm pretty sure it's just not enough info to go on and no one else is going to get any further than I already have.

FWIW, it sounds like it may be a harp that's playing, a really mellow tune that every time I hear it something inside me immediately feels good. I just KNOW I've heard that music and it's killing me not knowing what game it was. Yes, I'm pretty sure it was in a game that I heard it.

I want to say one of the Gothics, but darn it I'm not even sure of what I remember now from Gothic. Wish I could figure out a way to either record it when the game is playing or find it in the files and upload it so others could hear it because I bet I'm not the only one that recognizes that lovely melody.

Can you post a youtube video or something with that song? Might help.
Did you check the OST track list (usually wikipedia will list the tracks) and get a track name or at least a track number for that particular music? If you get that much info, maybe you could try googling it or checking youtube and see if there's anything in the comments. If the track has a proper name, maybe the other song from the other game will be listed on the side.

Maybe you did all this already and I'm just looking silly. I'm not going to do it for you though :P

Edit: you can use audacity to record whatever audio is playing on your computer. I do this sometimes when I want to record something off youtube or a DVD but only want a portion of the audio for a ringtone or something like that.

Oh man, no, but if you can tell me how to hear them, I would know it when I heard it. Should I just google the names of songs on the album and maybe find at least a sample I could hear?? I'll try that.

Better try with youtube, because there are a lot of songs called "Two Worlds":

Okay, I decided I could do some work for you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55rWqfQ6L70

If you're a newbie, you can click the videos on the side to watch those. Try to stay in order and with the same user that uploaded. I don't like making playlists so I just hold Ctrl while I click one to open them in new tabs.

edit: I'm too slow

If you go to the seven minute mark here, THAT'S IT. That's the music I just know I've heard in another game.

For some reason it's not very loud on this this you tube, perhaps he set his music volume lower than mine, but I know THAT'S IT. That's the music I was talking about.

THank you Licurg for helping me find it. Now if anyone can listen carefully to the music here from 7:01 to 7:15 or so, does it bring memories to you???

It reminds me vaguely of HOMM 2 or 3, but I can't be sure, the music volume's too low to hear it properly.

Yeah, it's very hard to hear over the other sounds.

I listened to all 16 (I think) tracks now and I couldn't find it, mostly because I thought the beginning was just like what you hear at 7:00 in the you tube I linked to above and none of them began like that. Perhaps it's not the beginning though and it sort of mellows out in the middle of some song. I did try skipping ahead on a few songs to see if I heard that nice melody but couldn't find it.

Meh, not a big deal, so no worries that it can't be identified.

Oh, and I haven't played HOMM 2 or 3 so I don't think that's it. It seems to me that it was an RPG that I heard it in before, and maybe if I keep hearing it in this game it will come to me eventually.

Funny how sounds can flood your mind with pleasant memories. Smells can do that too.

The music vaguely reminds me of Rayman 2, kind of a mystical sense to it (with the lute and harp, I guess). I KNOW I heard that squeaking sound effect in Rayman 2, starting at around 7:17. :P
