See, I have this VPS with only 360MB of RAM. It's cheap.
I also have this Maggie who needs a MUD running, but he also says CoffeeMUD is the only way - but that runs Java which would cause my VPS to explode.
So, does anyone know of a lightweight, Command line MUD engine with a web interface? Help would be appreciated.
is it essential that its an actual MUD? Could openRPG help? http://www.rpgobjects.com/index.php?c=orpg
GMUD is the only choice. I highly recommend it. I spent hours using it and its the only interface you need.
Then again, I could be wrong because I'm not sure what your asking for. >.>

From what I could see GMud is a client, right?
It looks like TheJoe is looking for a MUD server.

Ahh yeah its just a client. Well, its still the best client around in my opinion.

Really, 360MB of RAM should be TONS for any MUD. Unless you intend to have thousands of users logged in at a time?
As for an actual WEB interface, I have no idea. Pretty much any server will allow telnet/ssh administration though.
You should be able to find something here: http://ftpgame.org/cgi-bin/directory?/pub/
Your actual choice will depend on your specific requirements, as there are limitless variations of just about every base code.

360MB is fine, I know. Just not for CoffeeMUD which runs Java.

I'm looking for a server, so I can run a MUD.

Did you try asking over at The MUD Connector?
That would have been my first stop for something like this.

I'm a little confused about what you're asking, then.
You requested a MUD server, then insist that only CoffeeMUD will work.
But CoffeeMUD won't work, because java is garbage.

I am not insisting I need CoffeeMUD, this isn't my MUD. It's Ye Old Magnus's. I'm offering to host it for him. He seems to know nothing about MUD servers and so can't find me a good one.

Tsk tsk, don't diss me man. I was working in CoffeeMUD as a hobby, nothing more. Don't make me look bad in public, its rude. *sobs*.
