To the cat?

Congratulations! Our first is 14 months old and a constant delight.

Cheers.
Congratulations, xyem! That's wonderful news.

Aningan: Alexander if it's a boy or Alexandra if it's a girl.
Short: Alex
Seconded. Alex - especially Alexandra - is one of my favourite names.

I'm also quite partial to Skye for some reason, but that's not an option for my hypothetical children because my surname's Walker :p
If it's a boy, Glenn. If its a girl, Juliet!

Congratulations, Xyem!

My advice, try to live in the present because it all passes by so quickly, and these moments don't come again.

xyem: A few weeks ago, my crazy[1] girlfriend had her first ultrasound.
With English being not my primary language, at first I didn't know what you meant. Then I read this:

xyem: [1] After all, you do have to be crazy to want to have children with me!
And I finally understood. Well then, much congratulations to you and your girlfriend!
Vivian or Evelyn for the name, as I understand in UK both can be a man's as well as a woman's name.
Not in, but +1 for the giveaway.

wpegg: Congratulations.

Not in, but I must suggest Zippadidoodah! You cannot have a more positive name.
This name would be perfect, because the kid won't get very many scoldings. It's not exactly a name one can say angrily or sternly.

Not in, but if I were to choose a male name, it would be Gryphon (or Griffin, but I like the former spelling better). I'm not sure about a female name. Someone mentioned Mira, which is a good name, but I can't think of anything else.

Also, congratulations, Xyem.
Not in, but wow, congratulations!!!
Huge grins from the Momo ;-D

I gotta say that children change EVERYTHING! Fortunately those are mostly good changes including knowing exactly how it feels to purely love another human being completely unconditionally. Frankly, I am so glad I didn't miss this part of being human...despite the, shall we say agony? As my mother paraphrased the saying of someone famous "When you have children, you give hostage to fortune." As so it is....

As to names, this was both a bone of contention and a hilarious exercise in the absurd. I finally took to telling people that asked that we'd decided on Elvis. If pressed "Well what if it is a girl?", I'd patiently explained that we intended to add an "S". ;-p

Oh, not in but thank you!

They're calling him George, keep up! ;)

Not in, but I really wanted to call our second son Merlin. Didn't get to... He ended up as Tristan, which is also pretty cool.

I'm not participating, but it's obvious that you should name your kid MEGATRON.
