It is important. The evolution of global communication is important. That which brings people from all different cultures and walks of life is important. Anything which reduces the number of xenophobes, racists and other ignoramuses by showing the world that we're not all that different in any way that matters - that is also important. But recording every goddamn tweet is fucking pointless and just a waste of money and resources.
