According to Amazon's site both are compact. Look at the second picture for the MDR7506 on their site. According to Amazon the MDR7506 has noise canceling and the v6 has noise isolating feature...look towards the middle of the v6 page for the comparison

I've got a pair of Turtle Beach X12s. They sound great, offer some decent bass without distortion, good audio volume/range and the price didn't destroy my wallet. Not to mention it's cross PC/console compatible.

Interesting, tbh I want to get MDR-7506 for my home use. If both are travel friendly than it's good news for me. The noise canceling is perfect when I'm in a plane full of.... crying children.

I thought most people liked the coiled cable more than basic cable? since it's much shorter and you can stretch it without worrying about breaking the wiring inside?

Or you can always mod your headphone to have detachable cable though.

For traveling, they take up a lot more space, but I suppose the headphones take up most of the real estate in my backpack.

Sacrifice always needed when you travel around. What will you need to carry in backpack is always limited. Will you carry a big and bulky headphone but it will drown outside voice or will you carry a portable IEM or earbud or on ear headphone with the risk of voice leak or inconvenience after hours of use?

This is why I love my MDR-V6 - FiiO E3 - Sansa Clip+ combo. I can throw the Sansa and E3 inside the MDR-V6 bag and carry it around.

I currently am running in ear headphones. While I love the space saving, I could use better isolation and noise canceling that the over-ears headphones can provide.

I thought IEM headphones are mostly designed for noise canceling? or it's just the pricey one from Etymotic Research and the like?

Yup, IEMs are the best for noise isolation.

Did not know that. Mine have built in noise cancellation as well. My ears just get sore after an hour or two with them in.

Still pricey at $270, but a lot cheaper than the Sennheisers.

Yup, that's the main problem with earbuds and IEMs headphones.

Okay the price tags are still pretty scary but I willing to save money to get one of them. I'm not sure if the voice canceling headphone is wireless or not. It seems like the battery is there for voice cancellation not wireless device. The Bluetooth version however....

Strange the BT one says in the overview noise canceling perfection, yet it's cheaper than the one without BT. It's no where in the specs, but at the bottom of the overview page:

"A single AAA battery powers up to 17 hours of noise cancelling perfection, and Passive Mode combined with the supplied cord..."

Both headphones have detachable cables, so that's nice.
