Ninjas maybe. On the other hand, the hand that wasn't cut by a ninja, pirates can also sweet or totally awesome.
Going for ninjas: Stealth, shooting stars, katana, pseudomysterious legend status. And they can just flip off and uppercut people.
Yaarghing for pirates: Finger eating parrots, peglegs, the more wood you have the better you have been pirating. Eyepatches, no need for missing eye. Jolly Roger. And you can make people you don't like walk the the plank.
Also I don't hear any ninjas close by so they must watching me. I better not choose pira

In Wildstorm Comics' A Man Called Kev, written by Garth Ennis and published in 2006, there was indeed a sexy female ninja who didn't attract any attention until it was too late for her intended targets, including one of the miniseries' supporting cast members.
Her ninja powers weren't enough to shield her from a face full of 9mm rounds from the protagonist's MP5, however.

hmmm deadliest warrior debate lol. Ninjas fight at night some pirates fight at night but a pirates precious guns are almost useless at nite time I said almost then again a pirate fights with a cutlass ninja uses a ninjato there are a few real experts demonstrations of ninjas are check out choson ninja scottbaioisdead on youttube they know their stuff on ninja stuff and i assure you all that ninjas are very fearsome enemies and a lot of the myths about them are fake and there is a lot that is misunderstood about ninjas and those 2 people have demonstrations of ninja techniques and arts . Also you need to choose what battle ground on ships etc then again you have ask yourself in what era today’s pirates have wayyy more advanced technology but back when they both existed now you have something to talk about you watch mythbusters they proved that you can see better if you keep an eye patch over your eye during the day you can see better at night which pirates did indeed do also grape shots and chains fired out of cannons basic bombarding then you need to ask 1 on 1 or a big brawl of 10 on 1 also scottbiao has proven they wear armor whether it could withstand a musket well that is unlikely I admit this and a grenado? ah nope grenados are a big problem but a ninja is fast with his shurikens. The ninja sword fighting style compared to a pirates now that is an interesting argument i will say that me personally i would say ninjas are deadly warriors indeed and ninjas are not meant to be confused with samurai which aren’t the same similar but not the same but i do think the 2 people i mentioned show proof of what real ninjas can do and their abilities, weapons etc. The ninjas wouldn’t fight during the day if they did? if they used some good formations like guns in front grenados in back follow up with cannons with chains in the cannons or grape shot? uhhh damn its going to take a lot to stop that even a castle will crumble beneath a big cannonball so for the day time with some good leadership that is best but unlikely outcome for pirates but still it mite be possible if that were to happen nope i think the ninjas would be slaughtered like pigs lol but realistically at night the pirates can see with their eye patches technique but the ninjas are stealthy but sword to sword even with English style fighting the ninja arts nah the pirates are helpless. Overall i really do feel that the ninjas due to their abilities can defeat all the pirates advantages plus a drunken pirate really isn’t much of a fighter. Video games well rolls eyes lol come on I’m using real facts with proof to back it up video games.. have a good deal of truth but a lot is misunderstood about ninjas well i hope i havent been completely useless in this debate lol
